Got the blues when it comes to lunch? Here’s a great tasting and easy to prepare vegetarian sandwich spread to punch things up.
2 C Pero/Postum/Sanka (prepare according to directions)
1 C tomato sauce
1/2 C Cream of Wheat (regular not instant)
1/2 C natural style, smooth peanut butter
1 tsp salt (to taste)
1 tsp onion powder (to taste)
Prepare Pero/Postum/Sanka according to directions on it’s container for 2 cups. Combine prepared beverage and tomato sauce in the top half of double boiler placed directly on stove burner. Bring to boil stirring occasionally to keep from scorching. Add salt and onion powder. Slowly add Cream of Wheat to boiling liquid so as not to cause lumps, stirring continually. Cook approximately 5 minutes until cereal mixture is thickened. Add peanut butter and blend thoroughly.
