Jim Minty of Shenandoah Valley Adventist Elementary Receives National Award

Jim Minty, teacher at Shenandoah Valley Adventist Elementary School, was presented with a national award on Tuesday, May 14. Minty is among 10 teachers selected this spring by the Alumni Awards Foundation (AAF) to receive a 2013 Excellence in Teaching Award.

Commemorating the Sesquicentennial of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Special commemoration service to be held     This year we have been marking the Sesquicentennial of the establishment of the Seventh-day Adventist Church , and will continue to do so through December 31st. On May 20-21, at North American Division (NAD) and General Conference (GC) headquarters, we will be marking the precise 150th anniversary of the first GC Session – the beginnings of the NAD, the GC, and the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist® Church. We will be using this commemoration to thank God for His leading, and recommit ourselves to the prophetic mission He entrusted to the remnant Church

Southern Asian SDA Church Celebrates 25 Years

Potomac Conference’s  Southern Asian Seventh-day-Adventist Church (Silver Spring, Md.) celebrated 25 years of ministry, March 10.  The weekend celebration began on Friday evening with Raj Kumar Attiken, President of the Ohio Conference as the vespers speaker.  On Sabbath, a special Sabbath School program panel was convened by Gladwin Mathews.  Church Service was punctuated by the colorful regalia of a parade of ethnic diversity with each of the many states of India being represented by individuals dressed in their customary ethnic apparel.
