6: Confidence Only In Christ — Teaching Plan

February 1, 2026 By admin

Key Thought: Jesus said, “You are the light of the world” How can we be that light? Only through connection with the true light, Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world.
February 7, 2026

1. Have a volunteer read Philippians 3:4-6.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
  2. What things in his life did Paul say he had once been proud of?
  3. Personal Application: How would you describe the good in your life? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your relatives states, “I don’t understand how we are saved by grace, but the Bible says we are judged by our works. If works doesn’t save us, then why are we judged by what we do? Why should we even br concerned about the law or our conduct then?” How would you respond to your relative?

2. Have a volunteer read Ephesians 1:4, 2 Cor 5:21, Colossians 2:9, Philippians 4:9, Galatians 2:20.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What does Paul mean by the expression “to be found in Him”?
  3. Personal Application: What two things did Paul contrast, and why is this contrast important to always remember? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your relatives states, “I have been told that to be “in Him” means that when Christ died, we died with Him, that we were in Him when we died. How does this make sense to you? I’m trying to figure out of this makes any sense, or if it is nonsense.” How would you respond to your relative?

3. Have a volunteer read John 9:38.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What physical manifestation did Jesus perform here for a man?
  3. Personal Application: How might the spiritual principle of blind people seeing, and seeing people be blind be applied in your life or in the life of someone you know? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your friends states, “The world can blind us to what really matters. What is the key to keeping our eyes focused on what is really important?” How would you respond to your friend?

4. Have a volunteer read Philippians 3:10-16.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What are some of the points Paul makes in this passage?
  3. Personal Application: In your walk with God, why is it important not to keep looking back at your sins and faults, but to look what has been promised in Christ? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.

(Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted, loses its life-giving power, its healing virtue. Its blessings can be retained only as it is shared. ”Ministry of Healing, p. 148).
