¿Siempre más es mejor? Por qué las estadísticas no siempre reflejan el valor de la iglesia

May 3, 2026 By admin

May 3, 2026 By admin

Source: https://atoday.org/editorial-la-creciente-exigencia-de-transparencia-en-el-adventismo/

6: Prayer Warriors — Singing with Inspiration

May 3, 2026 By admin

Growing in a Relationship With God has many wonderful steps in it. There are several beautiful hymns from which to choose as a theme due to all the changes that come along when we grow in our relationship with God. On page 31 we see that “the most powerful weapon is prayer” to help us through our growing times. Therefore, we will wish to sing
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus – Hymn 290 to keep learning every minute of the day in our journey. To help with this journey, Lord,
Give Me The Bible – Hymn 272 to instruct even more with the Holy Spirit, encouraging along the way:
Hover O’er Me, Holy Spirit – Hymn 260.

For some dear ones, prayer is a learning and growing time. We are all able to keep growing closer to our God.
Hymn 488 – At First I Prayed For Light is a beautiful starting point in growth. Then will come the
Sweet Hour Of Prayer – Hymn 478 and
‘Tis The Blessed Hour Of Prayer – Hymn 501.

It is wonderful to see those amazing people in the Bible who relied on prayer communication with God. You will find in our pre-1985 SDA Hymnal the marvellous hymn
Dare To Be A Daniel, number 497 to unpack our study on Sunday.

Hymn 6 – O Worship The Lord encourages us to bow down before God and to kneel and adore Him as two of the ways for “The Posture of Prayer” on Monday.

We find that Enoch walked and talked with God in different places just as we are able to sing in
Hymn 487 – In The Garden on Tuesday.

Our next leader in the Bible to learn about is Moses and how he communicated with God. In
Hymn 147 – Christ Upon The Mountain Peak we find both Moses and Elijah trembling at His feet. Have we commenced learning enough, so far, this week to say
I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say – Hymn 465? And then take delight in God’s presence as in
Hymn 36 – O Thou In Whose Presence. Wednesday concluded with “God’s forgiving grace for sinners”:
Hymn 109 – Marvelous Grace.

As “Moses Intercedes For A Nation” it is because he “trusted in God’s power, presence, and leading in his own life” (Thursday):
Hymn 510 – If You Trust In God To Guide You.

With all of the joy of learning more about prayer and our closeness to our Gracious God, “we should pray because we love God so much” (Friday):
Hymn 236 – I Love Thee.

Please continue to search the scriptures this week to be blessed, and to bless others.

To learn unknown hymns, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/

Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org/Search and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Monday: The Posture of Prayer

May 3, 2026 By admin

Daily Lesson for Monday 4th of May 2026

When something goes wrong in our lives, most of us call a close friend to talk about it. When we have good news, we find someone to share it with. We can do the same with God. “Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend.”—Ellen G. White, Steps to Christ, p. 93.

Prayer not only keeps us connected to God but tells the devil whose we are. When we kneel to pray in the morning, it’s like a physical declaration to the powers of darkness that we choose God this day. Not only that, but God sends angels to our side when we pray, and we are fortified and covered from the enemy of darkness (Psalms 91:1-16).

Man Praying

Image © Review & Herald Publishing at Goodsalt.com

The physical act of kneeling in submission shows a humble posture. It’s somehow different from sitting in a chair or lying in a bed while we pray, although we can pray in these positions too. However, when we kneel before God, we show that we are ready to serve God with all our hearts, and our words declare that He is sovereign and that we are merely His created children.

Read the following Bible passages and consider the lives of these individuals who knelt when they prayed: Daniel 6:10, Luke 22:41, Acts 7:60, Acts 9:40, Acts 20:36.

Standing in prayer was a common practice in Bible times (2 Chronicles 20:5-6,13; 1 Samuel 1:26; Job 30:20; Luke 18:11,13). The Bible also shares examples of people who sat when they prayed (2 Samuel 7:18). Others prostrated themselves before God, with their face on the earth—although this posture was less commonly associated with prayer, but rather submission before a superior (1 Kings 1:47, Mark 14:35).

What is your usual posture when you pray? The Bible doesn’t require us to pray in any particular posture, but postures are important, as they reflect our reverence, our inner feelings, and our desire to surrender to God. Some people are unable to kneel; so, ultimately, it’s the heart condition that matters most. If you can kneel but usually don’t, why not try kneeling next time you pray and see how it affects your time with God?

The Bible invites us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17), implying constancy (Colossians 4:2) and perseverance (Romans 12:12). Today, as you stand, sit, lie, or walk, turn your thoughts to God and talk to Him as your Friend. Begin right now.
