7: A Portrait of Love — Singing with Inspiration

Oh, the beauty of studying this quarter’s lessons. We will learn so much of the Love of God (and our Saviour, Jesus) which stands out in so many pages of this quarter. Trying to choose just one hymn for the Theme Hymn was almost impossible, but these ones stood out all through the lesson pamphlet from which you may choose:
Hymn 79 – O Love Of God,
Hymn 349 – God Is Love and then in seeing God’s amazing love we can
Hymn 600 – Hold Fast and
Hymn 602 – O Brother, Be Faithful.

We have such a treat with the many hymns in our hymn book about love.
Love Divine – Hymn 191 really opens up our hearts and minds with the beginning of this week’s study times. Sabbath afternoon reminds us in its closing that love is “fully revealed in the life of Jesus” as does
Hymn 76 – O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go.

Monday love-lesson tells us what we find in:

Hymn 77 – O Love Of God Most Full,

Hymn 78 – For God So Loved The World,

Hymn 79 – O Love of God How Strong and True!,

Hymn 148 – O Love, How Deep, How Broad, and then teaches us how to replicate Jesus’ love in Hymn 188 – My Song Is Love Unknown.

We are then instructed on Wednesday that “only Christ perfectly revealed all those characteristics of love”, so that we can then go forward and sing amazingly
Hymn 183 – I Will Sing Of Jesus Love. We are then informed that “God Is Love” just we sing in
Hymn 349 – God Is Love along with
Hymn 78 – For God So Loved The World.

With all our learning from the Bible this week, can we heartily sing
Hymn 311 – I Would Be Like Jesus? We are all looking forward so much when “very soon, we will see our Lord face-to-face”:
Hymn 206 – Face To Face all because
God Is Love – Hymn 349. Our final learning point on Friday is from dear Sister Ellen White saying “only the love that flows from the heart of Christ can heal”: –
Hymn 577 – In The Heart Of Jesus.
