“A Life Saved by the Power of Hope”

Marlene was just 11 years old when she ran away from home after a traumatic event. By 17, she was a mother, and she felt that life seemed to be looking up, until it wasn’t . . . as her world fell apart again. Filled with despair and unable to find a way out of her problems, she contemplated the unthinkable: Taking her life and that of her children. She couldn’t bear the thought of her own daughter facing the life of problems she’d faced. But then something unexpected happened. Someone showed her how to tune into one of our AWR radio stations in Peru. Almost overnight, Marlene’s whole world changed as she drank in the words of life and the uplifting music.
