Are Ellen White’s Writings Equal With the Bible?

Are Ellen White's writings a substitute for the Bible, or can they be placed on the same level? The Bible is the most widely read book on the planet. Up to 100 million copies of this best-selling book are sold or given away every year. Beyond its message, the Bible has a wealth of fascinating wisdom from God. It is the complete revelation and the one rule of faith in practice, the standard for all teachings, and the foundation for all reforms. Seventh-day Adventists believe that God inspired the writings in the Bible and that it contains comfort, guidance, counsel, and the plan of salvation. It should be regarded as an authoritative and infallible revelation of God’s will. Ellen White’s writings, on the other hand, while not considered part of Scripture, are considered a lesser light that directs us to the Bible.
