Over the last few weeks, historic flooding occurred in British Columbia: mudslides, highways washed out, power outages, towns evacuated, land lost, vehicles lost, and lives lost. Bridges and mountain passes were also washed away, which meant that people were stranded alongside mountainous roads and highways, sometimes in their vehicles, and sometimes they had to abandon them. It’s hard to imagine how frightening that would be to be caught out in the cold in the middle of nowhere late at night, far from your home, not knowing how long you were going to be stranded or if you are going to even make it.
One of the places where many people were stranded was along a back road near Hope, BC. A Christian campground called Camp Hope gladly took in close to 300 travelers. Listen to some of their heart-wrenching stories. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xIhz2OLbso
