"What a beautiful character Joseph had! Though all his neighbors were pagan Egyptians, the young man Joseph remained true to the God of his father, Israel. When placed in a high position, Joseph realized that there was One higher than he. This showed me how important it is to have reverence for God implanted in our heart during our childhood. The fruits of having a good spiritual education in early age were shown later in Joseph’s character. I like how Joseph made the corn free for his brothers by hiding their money in their sacks. This reminds me of how the gift of salvation that God has given to you and me is free. We cannot buy salvation, for God has already paid the price. Like the brothers, we have nothing more to pay. And to think that many around us, especially here in Asia, have no idea about salvation! When the brother’s bowed to him Joseph remembered his early youthful prophetic dream. But the brothers didn’t remember it because they had never taken it seriously. And that makes me think of us.
