In this episode of From the Heart, Pastor Erton Köhler, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, explores what it truly means to be grounded in the Bible and focused on the mission. These are not just words to repeat, they are a way of living that gives us direction when everything around us changes. To be grounded in the Bible means letting its message take root in our hearts until it shapes the way we think, feel, and live. The Bible is not just a book about the past, it speaks to the present. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). But being grounded in the Bible does not lead us to isolation; it leads us to mission. When truth takes root, it bears fruit. Pastor Köhler shares examples from around the world: in Mongolia, wellness centers connect physical healing with spiritual hope; in South America, over 1.3 million young people have served through Mission Caleb; across continents, believers find creative ways to reach their communities with compassion and truth. To be grounded in the Bible is to hold tightly to truth. To be focused on the mission is to hold out our hands in love. Truth without mission becomes theory. Mission without truth becomes noise. But truth and mission together become transformation.
