In 1985, John Howard founded ADRA Canada. Armed with an unshakeable desire to serve the well-being of people worldwide, he led the agency through the early years of its work and established a foundation that has endured to this day. During the celebration of the 20th anniversary of ADRA in 2005, he gave this interview. It is presented here at length to honour his life and legacy in light of his unfortunate passing on July 25, 2026. In November of 2023, we were fortunate enough to have John Howard in attendance at another milestone celebration—the celebration of ADRA's 40th anniversary.
