Pastor Frank Dell’Erba honestly and vulnerably shares with Mike and René personal experiences of times when he went through anxiety, depression and fear, and how the truths found in Psalm 23 comforted him and brought him peace and joy.
We focus only on verse 4: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,"
Where there is a shadow, there must be a light shining.
A shadow is very intimidating. But a shadow is not reality. The shadow of a wolf cannot bite you, and the shadow of a knife or sword cannot cut you. The shadow of death cannot destroy you. 1 Corinthians 15:26 says, The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
"I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."
As long as God is with us, we have no fear of evil/death.
No longer “He”, but “You” and “Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” The shepherd is now personal. Staff: the shepherd’s crook.
Rod: the club with metal spikes imbedded in it for beating off predators, like wolves. Can also be used for discipline. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDiFevl5la4
