The future of a child is shaped long before diplomas and ceremonies. It begins at a table where someone listens, a question is welcomed, and a story is told again with patience. Around the world, that simple table is under pressure. In 2024 alone, at least 242 million students in 85 countries saw their schooling disrupted by extreme weather. Despite decades of progress, global estimates show more than 251 million children and youth still out of school. These are not statistics to win an argument. They are a call to bring our faith to the desks and doorways where tomorrow is made. Adventist education stands with quiet strength in some of the world's great urban centers. We have more than 10,400 educational institutions, reaching 2.5 million students with nearly 125,000 educators. In metropolitan Seoul, Sahmyook University serves one of Asia's largest cities. In Southern California, Loma Linda University continues Christ's healing ministry through globally respected health sciences education. In São Paulo, Brazil, our Adventist University reaches one of the largest metropolitan regions on earth. In the mountains of Nepal, Scheer Memorial Adventist School near Banepa has become a place where faith, learning, and service come together for students from many backgrounds. The Bible anchors this vision: "And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2, KJV). Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 19:14, KJV). If the kingdom welcomes children, then any table that welcomes a child becomes holy ground. Mission and education are not separate lanes. They share the same road. In a time when too many young people question whether their life matters, a school that knows their names becomes a sanctuary of purpose. Find a table to strengthen. Find a student to encourage. Find a school to support. When we help create such moments, we are not only solving a problem. We are joining the mission of Christ.
