Christ’s method alone to serve the world through ADRA #short
After a conflict or natural disaster, people are left in shock and it takes great care to provide for their needs. “A Young Man’s Faith Is Tested”
Have you ever had to sacrifice someone to follow Jesus? A young man in Tanzania did—maybe not in the same way Abraham was asked to sacrifice his son, but by the painful rejection of his parents when they learned he had accepted Jesus and the Adventist message. The truth that had seemed so clear and dear to him only angered his parents. When they realized they wouldn’t change their son’s mind, his father chased him from their home and told him never to return. “Losing my family was hard, but I gained another,” the young man said simply. His new church family embraced him as their son and he was comforted. But he still longed to reach his family and prayed for them every day. Then, one day, the unexpected happened: He learned his older brother had been baptized! Unbeknownst to him, his brother had also been studying the Bible. But how would their parents react? Watch this video where we share this amazing story. It will warm your heart! Yours in the Blessed Hope, Duane McKey

The Great Controversy | The Triumph of the Cross Amid the Great Conflict – (Answers at the Cross)

While the book of Job touches upon many important themes, it doesn’t answer all the questions it raises. It provides insight into suffering and the human question of evil but leaves many questions unanswered, which can only be addressed through the entire Bible. So, it’s left for us to look through a dark mirror and understand that certain answers remain closed off in this world.
The book of Job doesn’t further focus on Satan’s role, even though he played a crucial part initially. But the Bible doesn’t leave us in the dark. It offers us a clear perspective on the victory in the Great Controversy—the heart of this victory is the Cross.
In many texts of the Bible, it’s evident that Jesus’s death on the Cross marks a turning point in this cosmic conflict. Through His death, Satan was revealed as the true originator of evil. Jesus, in His humiliation and victory over death, shows that the power of evil is broken. This event proclaims that redemption is achieved for all humanity.
The joy from the work at the Cross becomes a source of hope and comfort for us. Even amid the trials we experience through the Great Controversy, we can hold onto Jesus’ victory. His sacrifice opens the way for us to be liberated from sin and death.
When we go through trials of faith, when doubts and challenges surround us, it’s the remembrance of the Cross that gives us hope. Jesus has triumphed for us. His love and sacrifice pave the way for redemption.
Let us look at the Cross amid our trials of faith, at the work Jesus accomplished for us. It is the source of our comfort and hope that guides us through the Great Controversy.
May the understanding of the Cross strengthen us on our journey of faith and fill us with joy and comfort, even as we face the challenges of the Great Controversy.
Lesson 6 Motivation and Preparation for Mission – 6.5 A Picture of the Early Church

Acts 2:41-47 indeed provides an inspiring picture of the early church and its fundamental characteristics. It depicts a community of believers unified and filled by the power of the Holy Spirit. Here are some key aspects expressed in this portrayal of the early church:
-
Community and Unity: The believers were united in their hearts and goals. They shared with each other, cared for one another, and were there for each other. This strong sense of community was a central feature of the early church and strengthened their faith.
-
Worship and Prayer: The believers regularly came together to worship God and be in prayer together. Collective prayer was a way to deepen their connection to God and to each other.
-
Teaching and Discipleship: The teachings of the apostles and instructions were crucial. The believers were not only instructed in the right doctrine but also in the practical application of their faith in daily life. This promoted the growth and maturity of the church.
-
Generosity and Meeting Needs: The believers shared their resources and helped those in need among them. This generosity and care for one another demonstrated a deep understanding of love and solidarity.
-
Missional Focus: The church did not only grow internally but actively sought to pass on the gospel to others. This was a sign of their dedication to the mission that Jesus had given them.
The picture of the early church in Acts 2 is a strong model for the contemporary church. It reminds us of how important community, prayer, teaching, generosity, and mission are in our Christian lives. We should draw inspiration from this depiction to live out the love and values of the early church in our own communities and relationships. It also encourages us to introduce people in our lives to a relationship with Jesus and guide them in their faith journey.
