Key Thought: The book of Ephesians was written to cope with the influence of the magic of sinister powers. Paul points to Christ as the one with superior strength.

1. Have a volunteer read Acts 19:13-20.

1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
2. What strange event leads to reverence for the Lord Jesus in Ephesus?
3. Personal Application: What powers or authorities are active in tempting believers to honor and respect them rather than loyalty to Christ? Share your thoughts..
4. Case Study: One of your relatives states, “Why did they burn their own books? Why didn’t they sell them and get some money for them at least?” How would you respond to your relative?

2. Have a volunteer read Acts 19:21 – 20:1.

1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
2. What lesson can we learn from this story about Artemis?
3. Personal Application: What were Paul’s concerns with the elders of the Ephesus church? Share your thoughts
4. Case Study: One of your friends states, “What would Paul warn about our church today and why?” How would you respond to your friend?

3. Have a volunteer read Ephesians 1:1,2 Ephesians 6:21-24.

1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point in this text is.
2. How does Paul worry about the effect his imprisonment would have on believers in Ephesus?
3. Personal Application: If we face adversity or trouble for ourselves or our leaders, how can we cling to hope for the future? Share your thoughts.
4. Case Study: One of your neighbors states: “I thought when we acfcepted Christ that He would protect us and keep us from evil and diasater. So when things don’t go right, how are we to believe God is with us and watching over us?” How would you respond to your relative?

4. Have a volunteer read Ephesians 1:9,10.

1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
2. Why is God’s will in bringing together in one all things in one called a mystery?
3. Personal Application: How can we work in concert with God’s plan to draw together a transnational, multilingual, cross cultural community? Share your thoughts.
4. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
