Ravo grew up amid the rice fields of Madagascar where her family toiled to make a living. When she was 17 years old, she left home and went to live with her uncle in the city so she could attend school. Her uncle had a television, but Ravo never liked the programs he watched and considered them a waste of time. Instead, she loved to look up educational presentations on her cell phone, and one day she discovered AWR’s Unlocking Bible Prophecies series with Cami Oetman. Soon she was hooked! She loved watching Cami and absorbed every truth-filled message. When she learned about the Sabbath truth, Ravo embraced it with all her heart. She loved the slogan Cami repeated with each presentation: If it’s in the Bible, I believe it. If it’s not in the Bible, it’s not for me. But soon her uncle learned of Ravo’s interest in these new beliefs, and he was not happy. You see, he was a Lutheran priest and well-known in the community. He had a reputation to maintain, and immediately ordered Ravo to drop her “strange new ideas.” But when Ravo refused to work on the Sabbath, it was too much for him. He declared, “No work, no food. If you don’t work, then you don’t eat!” What could Ravo do? If she could not remain with her uncle, she wouldn’t be able to finish her education and would have to return home a failure. But she could never give up the truths she’d discovered! Watch this video to see what happened next—because God can make a way even when we don’t see a way out, and He worked a miracle for Ravo. I love to see lives changed for God’s kingdom—and I especially love it when He uses Adventist World Radio to do it! Yours in the Blessed Hope, Duane McKey
