After being inspired by Peace of Thread Altanta, Adventist Muslim Friendship Association (AMFA, an NAD-based initiative) started Peace of Thread Chattanooga, a sewing group for refugee women. They meet bi-weekly to go over new designs and they learn new patterns. In a typical year they they might have a purse party once or twice a month to sell their purses and other bags. This video was filmed in February of 2020. Since the pandemic began, AMFA has continued to be a community to the refugee families, though currently only virtually and in other socially-distanced ways.
