Source: https://atoday.org/la-distorsion-del-papel-de-elle-white-parte-1/

Even Children May Share Their Faith
And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased, and said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? Matthew 21:15, 16.
The standard of truth may be raised by humble men and women; and the youth, and even children, may be a blessing to others, by revealing what the truth has done for them. God will use the most feeble instruments if they are wholly submitted to Him. He can work through them to reach souls to whom the minister could not obtain access. There are the highways and byways to be searched. With your Bible in your hand, with your heart warm and glowing with the love of God, you may go out and tell others your experience; you may make known to them the truth that has impressed your heart, praying with faith that God will make your efforts successful in their salvation. Communicate light, and you will have more light to communicate. Thus you may become laborers together with God.
God desires that His children shall make use of all their powers, that in working to bless others, they may grow strong in the strength of Jesus. You may not be learned; you may not be thought capable of doing a great work for God; but there are things which you can do. You can let your light shine forth to others….
Everyone may have an understanding of the truth, and exert an influence for good. Then go to work, my brethren and sisters. Gain an experience by working for others. You may make mistakes; but this is not more than the most intelligent, and those in positions of trust, have done again and again. You will not always meet with success; but you can never know the result of humble, disinterested effort to help those who are in darkness. Through the agency of the Holy Spirit, you may win souls from error to truth, and in so doing your own souls will be filled with the love of God.—The Review and Herald, January 12, 1897.

Dear Friends,
Every so often, I get nostalgic and homesick for my childhood home. This is normal for most of us, I believe. On such times, I type “911 N. Burdick St” in the search bar on my computer and reminisce. My grandparents’ house is now a light green instead of gray. Mr. and Mrs. Perry’s tiny dry cleaners is gone as are all the houses to the south of ours. There’s a rather tall pine tree where the cleaners was and my grandmother’s rose bushes, English Ivy, and trumpet vine are gone. Someone had closed in the front and side porches where I spent so much time playing. Yet, it still was familiar enough to bring back so many childhood memories.
Some people who have gone back to their childhood homes have regretted doing so. I ask myself, “There are some changes on the outside. I wonder how much it has changed on the inside.” Yes, this old world is full of change. Nothing on this planet is permanent. One day the routine of a comfortable life can change into a miserable existence with much pain, sickness, and death.
Praise God! There is Someone Who never changes. We can fully rely upon Him Who says, “I am the LORD, I change not.” Mal 3:6 “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.” Deut 32:4
There is an old hymn that we used to sing that speaks of this very thing.
The Lord’s our Rock, in him we hide, A shelter in the time of storm;
Secure whatever ill betide, A shelter in the time of storm. Mighty Rock in a weary land, Cooling shade to the burning sand, Faithful guide for the pilgrim band—a shelter in the time of storm.
A shade by day, defense by night, A shelter in the time of storm;
No fears alarm, no foes affright, A shelter in the time of storm. Mighty Rock in a weary land, Cooling shade to the burning sand, Faithful guide for the pilgrim band—a shelter in the time of storm.
The raging storms may round us beat, A shelter in the time of storm; We’ll never leave our safe retreat, A shelter in the time of storm. Mighty Rock in a weary land, Cooling shade to the burning sand, Faithful guide for the pilgrim band—a shelter in the time of storm.
O Rock Divine, O Refuge dear, A shelter in the time of storm; Be thou our helper ever near, A shelter in the time of storm. Mighty Rock in a weary land, Cooling shade to the burning sand, Faithful guide for the pilgrim band—a shelter in the time of storm.
May we fully trust in “Jesus Christ Who is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.” Heb 13:8 Amen!

Tuesday: Joseph and Benjamin
Jacob could not easily allow the departure of Benjamin, his only son with Rachel who remained with him. He was afraid that he would lose him, as he already had lost Joseph (Genesis 43:6-8). It is only when there was no more food (Genesis 43:2) and when Judah pledged to guarantee the return of Benjamin (Genesis 43:9) that Jacob finally consented for a second visit to Egypt and allowed Benjamin to go with his brothers.
Read Genesis 43:1-34. What effect had Benjamin’s presence on the course of events?
Benjamin’s presence dominated the events. When all the brothers stand before Joseph, Benjamin is the only person whom Joseph sees (Genesis 43:16). Benjamin is the only one who is called “brother” (Genesis 43:29, NKJV). While Benjamin is called by name, all the other brothers are not identified; they are simply referred to as “men” (Genesis 43:16).
Joseph calls Benjamin “my son,” as a reassuring expression of special affection (Genesis 43:29; compare with Genesis 22:8). Joseph’s blessing refers to “grace” (Genesis 43:29), reminiscent of his begging for grace, which was not forthcoming (Genesis 42:21). Joseph returns to Benjamin the grace that he did not receive from his other brothers.
While Joseph’s brothers fear that they will be cast in prison because of the money that was returned, Joseph prepares a banquet for them because of Benjamin’s presence. It is as if Benjamin had a redeeming effect on the whole situation. When all the brothers are seated according to their ages and respecting the rules of honor, it is Benjamin, the youngest, who is served five times more than all the other brothers (Genesis 43:33-34). And yet, this favoritism does not bother them, unlike when Joseph was his father’s favorite many years ago, which led to their terrible actions toward both their half brother and their own father (Genesis 37:3-4).
“By this token of favor to Benjamin he hoped to ascertain if the youngest brother was regarded with the envy and hatred that had been manifested toward himself. Still supposing that Joseph did not understand their language, the brothers freely conversed with one another; thus he had a good opportunity to learn their real feelings. Still he desired to test them further, and before their departure he ordered that his own drinking cup of silver should be concealed in the sack of the youngest.” — Ellen G. White, Patriarchs and Prophets, Pages 228, 229.
