Tuesday: The Power of the Resurrection

August 15, 2022 By admin

The Resurrection addresses the problem of human powerlessness. When we think about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we often think about how the death of Jesus was the event that made us legally right with God. And that, of course, is true.

However, the Resurrection adds a specific dimension to salvation. The resurrection of Jesus is meaningful not just because it shows us that one day we will be resurrected, as well. The Resurrection placed Jesus at the right hand of the Father in a position of power and authority. This resurrection power is the same power that God makes available for us today!

In Ephesians 1:18-23, Paul talks about the power of God. What do these verses teach us about the power of the Resurrection? What hope and promises for yourself can you find in these verses?
Resurrection Morning

Paul is praying that the Ephesians understand a few things that can be understood properly only with divine help: (1) that there is the hope of transformation and an eternal future to which Jesus has called us; (2) that we understand the power that was manifested in our behalf.

Paul then tries to describe how astonishing this power is. The power that is available to us today is the same power that resurrected Jesus not just out of the ground and back to life, but to the place of power at the Father’s right hand.

But Paul doesn’t stop there. The Resurrection didn’t simply give Jesus just any sort of power, but the power to rule and provide every possible thing His people could ever need — for all eternity!

Make a list of the areas in your life you need the power of the resurrected Jesus. When you have finished, pray that this power will be applied to all these areas of need. At the same time, what can you do better, what choices can you make, that can allow this power to work more freely in your life?

<–Monday Wednesday–>

Amen!(1)

Keeping God’s Commandments and Having Faith in Jesus #TelltheWorld #shorts

August 15, 2022 By admin

Do you love Jesus? Are you keeping His commandments? This #short clip from the movie, Tell the World, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AjBRsjbzOs explains that Jesus linked keeping His commandments to loving Him, so following God's commandments will be a significant issue in these last days. Satan's wrath will fall on those who follow God's laws and have the testimony of Jesus. Click the link to learn about the foundation laid for early believers who, despite adversity, held on to the testimony of Jesus in their lives and obeyed God's commandments faithfully. Tell the World shares the beginnings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church through the stories of those that helped form and shape it into what it is now—a global movement of over 21 million members. 8: Seeing the Invisible – Teaching Plan

August 14, 2022 By admin

Key Thought: The truth about our Father’s goodness, the power of His name, the power of the resurrection, and the compassion of God will shape and enable us to stand strong in adversity.
August 20, 2022

1. Have a volunteer read John 14:14.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
  2. What does Jesus mean when He asks us to pray like this?
  3. Personal Application: What things in your life could be standing in the way of having these promises fulfilled in you? Share your thoughts..
  4. Case Study: One of your relatives states, “I have prayed for many things over the years expecting the Lord to hear and answer. But I never get the things I asked for. Does it matter what I ask for, or why I ask, or when I ask? He says if you ask anything in His name He will do it.” How would you respond to your relative?

2. Have a volunteer read Ephesians 1:18-23.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What does this text teach us about the power of the resurrection?
  3. Personal Application: What choices can you make in areas of your life to allow this power to work more freely? Share your thoughts
  4. Case Study: One of your friends states, “What power is God talking about here? How is His body, the church, the fullness of Him? I don’t understand this saying..” How would you respond to your friend?

3. Have a volunteer read I Peter 5:7.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
  2. What is the basic message here for us?
  3. Personal Application: What things cause you to worry? Do you believe God can take care of it? Is there anything that we should worry about? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your neighbors states: “How can I cast all my cares on someone I’ve never seen? If He cares for me so much, I wouldn’t have all the financial and physical problems I have. How am I supposed to care for someone I don’t know?” How would you respond to your relative

4. Have a volunteer read Isaiah 40:27-31.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. In what way does Isaiah describe God? Can we hide anything from Him?
  3. Personal Application: How would you respond to those who feel God has left them? Share your thoughts?
  4. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.

(Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted, loses its life-giving power, its healing virtue. Its blessings can be retained only as it is shared.”Ministry of Healing, p. 148).

Amen!(0)
