🌟 Growing in Faith
🧭 From Renewal to Blossoming in Christ

──────────────── 🔦 ────────────────

📖 Bible Text

“Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God.”
Hebrews 6:1

──────────────── 🔦 ────────────────

👣 Introduction

Hebrews 6:1 calls us to “leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity.” Often as Christians, we remain stagnant—satisfied with basic knowledge. But God has greater things in store: He invites us to grow closer to Christ daily and to mature in His character.

──────────────── 🔦 ────────────────

🎯 Devotional

At the gate to eternal life, God lays the foundation—faith. Along this path shine the light, peace, and joy of willing surrender. The traveler keeps his eyes on the goal: the high calling in Christ. God’s commandments become righteousness, joy, and peace in the Holy Spirit. What first felt like a burdened cross becomes, through experience, a crown of victory.

“Learn of Me!” – Jesus calls us to adopt His lifestyle: pure, holy, spotless from sin. Growth—not stagnation—is heaven’s law. Just as in a field the tender green grows into an ear and finally into full grain, so we are to daily grow into the fullness of Christ.
📖 Ellen G. White, Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 69

The Christian begins as a newborn in Christ, becomes a “spiritual child,” and is called to keep moving forward as God provides opportunities. He no longer belongs to himself, for he has been bought with a price. Therefore, he must use his talents and gifts faithfully and grow in the knowledge of the Word.

“The Christian is never to feel that he has arrived, but should count all things loss for the surpassing worth of knowing Christ.”
📖 Ellen G. White, Steps to Christ, p. 107
As he walks and works in communion with the Savior, his faith will increase and his heart be transformed step by step.

📝 Story – The Boy and the Mountain Path

Once there was a young boy named Jonas who lived in a small mountain village. Each morning, he gazed at the towering peak of Silver Mountain on the horizon—a majestic summit, shrouded in clouds, seemingly unreachable. One day, he decided to climb it. He packed only what was essential: some bread, water, and his faithful hiking journal, where he recorded all his journeys.

The climb began gently—a narrow path through green meadows with colorful flowers scattered like paint. Jonas enjoyed the crisp mountain air and sang softly. But soon, the path grew steeper and rockier. He stumbled, scraped his knees, and had to cling to the rocks to avoid slipping. His heart pounded. Doubt crept in. “Why am I doing this?” he thought, collapsing onto a stone in exhaustion.

At that moment, he saw an old trail marker: a wooden sign reading “Faith Forward” with a faint beam of light pointing toward a safer path. He remembered his grandfather’s words: “God’s voice will guide you even in the storm.”
Taking a deep breath, Jonas stood up. He folded his hands and prayed for strength. Immediately, he felt lighter—fear gave way to renewed determination.

Step by step, he pressed onward, following small light signs placed along the rock face. At times, a narrow ledge tested his limits, and icy wind made him tremble. But whenever he wanted to give up, another trail marker appeared. Each one reminded him he was not alone and that the goal was near.

After hours of grueling effort, Jonas finally reached the summit. Sweaty, clothes torn, but his heart was singing with joy. Before him lay a vast sunlit landscape—valleys, streams, and forests he had conquered. Placing his hands over his heart, he whispered:
“I could never have made it without Your guidance, Lord.”

On the descent, he found a small trail token in his backpack he hadn’t noticed before—a simple metal plaque engraved with:
“Every step of obedience becomes your path to life.”
Jonas understood: this mountain was just the beginning. Every new day he would walk further, grow deeper, and follow God’s light—until he found fullness of life in Christ.

──────────────── 🔦 ────────────────

👉 What Do We Learn from This Story?

From Jonas’ climb of Silver Mountain, we gain several key insights for our faith journey:

🔹 Faith as a Guide
The light signs and the “Faith Forward” marker symbolize how God’s Word and answered prayers give us confidence—even on steep, unclear paths.

🔹 Strength through Prayer
In his exhaustion, Jonas found renewed energy in prayer. Likewise, whenever we hit our limits, we can find strength in God’s presence.

🔹 Perseverance in Trials
The path was rocky and the wind cold, but Jonas moved forward step by step. Christian growth also requires determination—we must repeatedly choose not to give up.

🔹 God’s Guidance in Subtle Signs
The small markings on the rock remind us that God leads not only through grand revelations, but often through gentle whispers in daily life.

🔹 Purposeful Focus
Jonas kept his goal (the summit) firmly in view. So the “high calling in Christ” (Philippians 3:14) helps us set our priorities and endure hardships.

🔹 Gratitude at the Finish
At the summit, Jonas thanked God for His protection. Likewise, we too can thank God for victories and draw new motivation for future challenges.

🔹 The Journey Continues
The extra trail marker in the backpack shows: faith has no final destination in this life. Every act of obedience prepares the next step toward the fullness of life in Christ.

Together, this story encourages us to walk our faith path in the bright light of God’s promises—step by step, trusting in His ongoing presence.

──────────────── 🔦 ────────────────

🧠 Reflection – What Does This Mean for You?

🔸 Stagnation or Growth?
Where are you stuck in your walk with God?

🔸 Daily Practice
Are you willing to take intentional time for silence, prayer, and Scripture?

🔸 Using Your Talents
How are you using your gifts to build others up?

🔸 Living, not just Knowing
Do you seek only knowledge about Christ—or a real, living relationship with Him?

──────────────── 🔦 ────────────────

💡 Action Steps for Today

🕊 Pearl Meditation
Take 10 minutes by the sea, a river, or in quiet. Reflect on one character trait of Christ you want to live out today.

📈 Growth Check
Write down three ways you’ve spiritually grown in the past month.

🤝 Service Today
Ask a friend how you can help them practically today—in serving others, your faith will grow too.

──────────────── 🔦 ────────────────

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to grow in Christ.
Grant me the faith to look to Your Word daily and let Your work be done in me.
Give me courage to use my gifts, and patience to shape pearls of Your love in times of stillness.
Help me to become more like Jesus step by step. Amen.

──────────────── 🔦 ────────────────

God Sees More Than Your Mistakes.

July 24, 2025 By admin

The Bible mentions real, broken people who encountered a faithful, loving God. They had flaws, made mistakes, carried shame—but their past didn’t stop God from working through them. He called them, and He rewrote their story. Comment “He’s not done with me yet” if you believe God is still writing your story. Source: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6jHJOiIqotQ

Is African Adventism a Myth?

July 24, 2025 By admin

by Admiral Ncube  |  24 July 2025  | In early 2022 when the Ukraine war erupted, Adventists were inundated with calls from church leadership to pray for and support affected Ukraine. This was followed by a decision by the then-church leaders to attach Ukraine to the General Conference in April 2022. Inside Story: Strange and Silent World

July 24, 2025 By admin

Inside Story for Friday 25th of July 2025

By Andrew McChesney

No one in town had ever converted to Christianity, and townspeople burned with anger when Kokila’s father and four other families decided to keep the seventh-day Sabbath. Kokila was nine, and her life changed forever.

Kokila’s mother had died when she was a baby, and she lived with her father, four older sisters, and an older brother in southern Asia.

Father, an impoverished farmer, was barred from working in the field after he started to keep the Sabbath. He and the other Sabbath keepers also were forbidden from buying food in shops.

In addition, town leaders announced that anyone who spoke to the Sabbath keepers would have to pay a large fine.

As a result, neighbors refused to talk to Kokila and her family. Kokila also didn’t talk to her neighbors. Nobody wanted to pay the fine. Kokila had had many friends, and she lost them all. It was a strange and silent world for the girl.

When Father refused to give up his faith, the neighbors turned violent. They angrily swooped down on Kokila’s home, scooping up furniture, clothing, and dishes, and dumping them on the street. They also beat her father and brother.

One neighbor, however, proved to be a bright light during that dark time. He also wasn’t a Christian, but he didn’t belong to the same major world religion that the townspeople did. He helped Kokila’s family to buy rice. He talked to Kokila, and he willingly paid the fine for violating town rules.

For seven years, Kokila lived in horrible circumstances. Three of the families who had accepted the Sabbath at the same time as Kokila’s father changed their minds and left the church. Only two of the five families, including Kokila’s family, remained faithful to God.

Kokila never complained, but she cried a lot. Father saw her tears, and he decided to send her to an Adventist boarding school. It was like a piece of heaven on earth for the girl.

“The teachers were very kind and loving,” recalled Kokila, who today is 39 and works as a secretary at the boarding school, E. D. Thomas Memorial Higher Secondary School in Thanjavur, India. “The teachers spoke to me! The children spoke to me! It was so nice to have friends again.”

Thank you for your mission offerings, which support Seventh-day Adventist schools around the world. E. D. Thomas Memorial Higher Secondary School received part of a Thirteenth Sabbath Offering in 2020.
