I don’t know about you, but there are times when going forward is difficult—even downright scary—and all we want to do is turn and run. God knew this when He inspired Paul to say, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13, 14) No matter how difficult the road ahead, God says, “Press forward!” We are living in uncertain and confusing times, with upheaval not only in the political and civil world, but in nature itself. Amid the chaos, God bids us to shine His light in the darkness, promising that the darker the night, the brighter we’ll shine—if we don’t turn and hide! I am excited to share with you this month an unforgettable experience I had in the Congo (DRC) many years ago.
