Sabbath School: Asking God to Help People

July 18, 2020 By admin

The New #Testament #church members felt their need for #prayer. When we seek #God and intercede for others, God works in our own hearts to draw us closer to Him and gives us divine #wisdom to reach them for His kingdom. “After the believers prayed, the place where they were meeting shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they continued to speak God’s message without fear” (Acts 4:31, ERV). Look at what happens. First, Jesus’ followers pray. They are filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they share the Good News about #Jesus without any fear. Here we see a connection between prayer, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and sharing Bible truth. “Jesus’ followers do not ask God to bless them alone. They feel the need to pray for people. Jesus’ followers know that they must share the Good News everywhere on earth. So, they ask God for the power that Jesus promises them.”—Ellen G. White, The Acts of the Apostles, page 37, adapted. We also must ask God to save people. Then God will work in our hearts. He will bring us close to Him. He will give us the wisdom to know how to bring people into His kingdom (James 1:5). God will work in their lives in a powerful way. We may not always see how God works or understand it. But God is working in their lives (1 John 5:14–17). Our Conspiracists, and Why We Love Them

July 18, 2020 By admin

By Loren Seibold  |  18 July 2020  |   As one who once dreamed of writing fiction, I’m always astonished at the creativity of the plots and twists that fiction writers come up with. Particularly those who write what is called “speculative fiction” have delightfully imaginative ideas, ones that I doubt anyone has ever thought of […] Source: https://atoday.org/our-conspiracists-and-why-we-love-them/

Can COVID-19 Be Fought by a Plant-Based Diet?

July 18, 2020 By admin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0Pqeu6EFzI

Nutrition plays a very important role in our well-being. But can the food we eat help optimize our health to combat COVID-19? Can a plant-based diet help as we battle this virus and truly support optimal well-being? In this week’s episode, we’ll take a look at the booming popularity of the whole-food/plant-based diet, and how it may negate the impact of comorbidities with COVID-19. It’s not just science that supports a healthful diet! The Bible also highlights eight principles that can be easily remembered using the acronym WANT REST (Water, Air, Nutrition, Temperance, Rest, Exercise, Sunlight and Trust in God ). This program will focus on what science and the Bible say about nutrition. Join us for LEVEL UP Episode 7 with host Dr. Lela Lewis and guests Pastor Mark Finley, Dr. Zeno Charles-Marcel and Dr. David DeRose as they talk about optimizing our health by knowing the facts about nutrition and rediscovering the wisdom God has shared through the scriptures. Learn more about LEVEL UP and our recent symposiums at awr.org/health. MEET THE HOST
