6: Laying up Treasure in Heaven – Singing with Inspiration
“MANAGING FOR THE MASTER Till He Comes” will show us that
God Is Working His Purpose Out – Hymn 225 in all our we do and say. May we be encouraged by this hymn for this quarter and that
In Our Work And In Our Play – Hymn 591 we will work until Jesus comes. Hence, a choice of theme hymns for this quarter.
The most priceless treasure in Heaven is our Saviour, Jesus:
Hymn 239 – Jesus, Priceless Treasure. Sabbath afternoon’s introduction goes on to request
Seek Ye First The Kingdom – Hymn 224 because I am, you are,
Heir Of The Kingdom – Hymn 594.
On Sunday Noah preaches for more than one century and we are asked to
Go, Preach My Gospel – Hymn 378 today.
We are given a great example of faith on Monday with Abram:
Hymn 11 – The God of Abraham Praise. We wish to praise God, just as Abram/Abraham did, and be just as faithful as he was:
O Brother, Be Faithful – Hymn 602.
We read of Jacob on Wednesday and his weary travels.
As Jacob With Travel Was Weary – Hymn 628, so are we in this world as it falls apart in preparation for the coming of our Lord. Once again our encouragement comes from
O Brother, Be Faithful – Hymn 602.
With worldly possessions pressing in all around on the media and from those around us, it is wonderful to sing
Take The World, But Give Me Jesus – Hymn 329 because
Jesus Is All The World To Me – Hymn 185.
Today, and every day, we look forward to Jesus coming again. Oh, what a day that will be
When We All Get To Heaven – Hymn 633 because
That Glorious Day Is Coming – Hymn 209.
To learn unknown hymns, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/
Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org/Search and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

6 Laying Up Treasure in Heaven – Teaching Plan
Key Thought: If you want a heart for the kingdom of God, put your money and prayer into God’s work. You will be even more interested in that work, and your heart will follow.

- Case Study: One of your friends states, “Why did God tell Abraham that He had heard about Sodom and Gomorrah and had come to see for Himself? Didn’t God already know what was going on? Why did He tell Abraham that He was going to destroy them?” How would you respond to your friend?
