Commentary by Edwin Reynolds:
"Joseph was very happy with the arrival of his extended family. After the initial festivities, he decided to help them with the choice of a place to live. In view of Pharaoh's appreciation of Joseph, the probability was great that he would offer to his brothers important offices in the service of the king, but this would expose them to idolatrous and corrupting influences. Thus Joseph instructed his brethren to tell Pharaoh that they were shepherds, even though they knew that the Egyptians considered shepherds to be a degrading activity. When the king knew that Joseph's brothers were shepherds, he gave him permission to establish his relatives in whatever place he deemed most convenient. Joseph chose Goshen as a suitable place, because it was provided with good pastures and plenty of water. There his relatives could worship God far from the corrupting influences of the Egyptian culture. Joseph had in mind the best for his family. In the same way, we should choose places of residence and professional activities that are favorable to our children's development and spiritual well-being, far from the demoralizing customs of the world. Lord, help us to be prudent and wise like Joseph!" ❤️ Jump to Daily Bible Reading https://www.revivalandreformation.org/bhp/en/bible/gen/47 Our accounts in other social networks:

¡Miedo a estar fuera de la iglesia!
Por Joni Bell | 28 de Febrero, 2022 | De vez en cuando viajo al sur de California para visitar la casa de mi infancia y ponerme al día con mis primos que aún viven en la zona. Unos días de reflexión sobre mis raíces me ayudan a replantearme mis elecciones, mi vida, mis propósitos. […] Source: https://atoday.org/miedo-fuera-de-la-iglesia/
10: Jesus Opens The Way Through the Veil – Teaching Plan
Key Thought: The ascention of Jesus to heaven is central to the theology of the Hebrews. It marks the beginning of Jesus’ High Priestly ministry on our behalf.

- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- What warning do we have in these passages?
- Personal Application: Why should we not be afraid to draw near to a holy God? What are the conditions for us to be able to draw near? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states, “Is there any other church that teaches the heavenly sanctuary and Christ’s ministry for us there? Why does your church think there is a judgment day in 1844? Wasn’t that based on a mistake?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 10:19-22.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- How do we follow God’s lead into the heavenly sanctuary as He invites us to?
- Personal Application: What accusations could Satan make against you before God? How much would He have to lie to seek your condemnation? Share your thoughts
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “What does it mean to be able to enter into the holiest through the veil through His flesh and blood by a new and living way? And what does it mean to have our hearts sprinkled and our bodies washed?” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 12:22-24.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- In what sense have we “arrived” at the heavenly Jerusalem in the presence of God?
- Personal Application: How do we make the promise of eternal life real in this world so full of pain and suffering? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “This talk about eternal life in heaven with no sin, no evil, all good is just a fantasy to help us feel better about our lives here and now.” How would you respond to your relative?
4. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 12:18-21.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- What was the experience of Israel at Mt. Sinai?
- Personal Application: How would we even presume to even think about approaching such a holy God, let alone boldly, in light of Israel’s experience? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
(Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted, loses its life-giving power, its healing virtue. Its blessings can be retained only as it is shared.”Ministry of Healing, p. 148).
