Learning Health with Volleyball

The EMBRACE program, conducted in rural villages of Cambodia, is teaching youth principles of healthful living through a volleyball league. With sponsorship and training, youth are recruited to join a team, practice and then compete against teams from other villages. As part of the training, youth learn all of the same principles of health and nutrition being taught to women in the village. They are taught that to be a better player they need to take good care of their health, eat right and grow their own organic vegetables!

Changing Lives in Peru

A group of young people from Vancouver have made a difference in a small village in the Peruvian Andes. The Mountain Lions Pathfinder group from the Oakridge Seventh-day Adventist Church spent a week building “smokeless” eco cooking stoves in a remote village in Peru. Catch their excitement and enthusiasm for serving others in this video report.
