In a predominantly Catholic region, he built friendships with children of other faiths, played sports, and attended public school while keeping the Sabbath, and grew up to be a scientist, despite feeling called to ministry. What led Ronny Nalin to the field of Geology and the position of director for the Geoscience Research Institute (GRI) of the Adventist Church? This week in Adventist history, we look into the dedication of the New Westminster Ukrainian Seventh-day Adventist Church in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, on October 9, 1949. The church was initially served by Pastor Nichol Bodrug, who had a remarkable life journey, including immigration to Canada, the loss of his first wife to the influenza pandemic, and pastoral service in the Vancouver area.
