Dr. Sampson M. Nwaomah joins hosts Frank Hasel and Keldie Paroshi to explore the question of “what is the church” from a Biblical perspective. Join as they explain how the church is not a structure, but a community of believers who profess Christ as their Lord and Savior, underscoring the church's core meaning as an assembly or group of people who've responded to God's calling. This is the 12th video in a series that explores the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Biblical scholars help explain and apply these beliefs so that we can understand that what the Bible says and strengthen our faith in God’s word. Who leads the church and why do we even need a church? How can we thrive as a church, even when human leaders falter? These and other questions are addressed in this video by Frank Hasel, Keldi Paroshi and Dr. Sampson Nwaomah. Bible writers often picture the church as the body of Christ or the Bride of Christ. This imagery paints the church as a diverse, interconnected network where everyone has a role. We learn that every person's contribution is valuable for the church's outreach and worship activities. It's a team effort with no room for a lone wolf mentality. They also explain that becoming a member involves a confession of faith, baptism, and public demonstrations of belief. The hosts emphasize that choosing to follow Jesus means joining a community of believers, not setting off solo. They stress that the church's mission is to share the good news, hold each other accountable, and support one another. In other words, no believer should face life's challenges alone. Join us as we delve deep into understanding "what is the church" from the Bible, exploring its meaning, function, and vital role in every believer's spiritual journey. This video will inspire you to view the church in a new light, as a community that embodies the teachings of Christ and serves a purpose greater than itself. ————————————————————————————

Understanding Adventist Beliefs: Growing in Christ
How does the Bible reveal Christ’s character? Why shouldn’t we engage with evil? How do we gain victory over sin? Learn more about questions like these and more as Dr. Frank Hasel, Keldie Paroshi, and Dr. Galina Stele talk about the 11th Fundamental Belief: Growing in Christ. Sin is a dangerous beast that is working its evil on a daily basis, and only by seeking Christ can we be safe. By seeking to understand the Bible and striving to be like Christ in character, we can be changed for the better. Sanctification through the working of the Holy Spirit is necessary for breaking the power of sin. This episode reminds us to look at Jesus’ example, and as we behold Him, we are changed. As Ephesians 4:15 says, “Speak the truth in love and grow to become more like Christ.” Every day, we must remember where our strength lies and seek to be closer to the One who is our salvation. ————————————————————————————

Understanding Adventist Beliefs: The Experience of Salvation
Why do we need salvation? What is justification and sanctification? What is our role in the process of salvation? Once I'm saved, am I always saved? Questions like these and more are answered In this episode on the 10th Fundamental Belief, The Experience of Salvation. Dr. Frank Hasel, Keldie Paroshi, and their guest Lisa Beardsley-Hardy dive deep into the belief of salvation and address many questions that come along with it. God works daily in our lives to lead us to salvation, and when we feel the lowest, this is the moment where He can work to the fullest. Our deficiencies are His opportunities. Salvation is a complex topic, but with biblical theologians leading the discussion into this belief, you will be left with a deeper understanding and connection to your faith. As Isaiah 12:2 says, “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” ————————————————————————————

Understanding Adventist Beliefs: The Great Controversy
What is the Great Controversy? Did God create Satan? Why do good people suffer? Questions like these and more are addressed by Dr. Frank Hasel, Keldie Paroschi, and Dr. Alberto Timm as they cover the 8th of the Fundamental Beliefs: The Great Controversy. The fight between good and evil has existed since before the time of humanity, and it is easy to forget about its impact on our lives. The belief about the great controversy breaks down the details about the unseen things going on around us. God’s character can be revealed in His law, which existed prior to the fall. He and His law are one, and it exists as a map through this sinful world. This episode reminds us to rely on the strength of God in the face of evil. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 states, “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” Even in the face of sin, the Lord is there to protect us and keep us safe. ————————————————————————————

The Great Controversy Chapter 15 Part 2: The Bible and the French Revolution
This week, Pastor Ted Wilson continues discussing Chapter 15 of The Great Controversy, “The Bible and the French Revolution,” in which an official legislative body unanimously renounced the belief and worship of God in 1793. For centuries, the blood of martyrs was shed in France—the Waldenses, the Albigenses, and the brave Huguenots—all attempted to bring the light of the Gospel into their country. Persecution of the Protestants in France culminated under Louis XIV. A devout Catholic who was known as "The Sun King," Louis XIV approved what became known as the "St. Bartholomew Massacre"—one of the bloodiest and most ruthless massacres of all time. To learn more about “The Bible and the French Revolution,” the St. Bartholomew Massacre, and how they relate to our present experience, read The Great Controversy by Ellen White at https://greatcontroversyproject.org/.
