23rd General Conference Session of Seventh-day Adventists; and other happenings [History] For this week in Adventist history, on October 30, 1884, the 23rd General Conference Session was conducted in Battle Creek, Michigan, with 67 delegates. At the time, the General Conference had 28 conferences and three missions, but delegates came from only twenty-one conferences and one of the missions. The delegates met off and on for a month and reelected all three officers, President Butler, Secretary Uriah Smith, and Treasurer A. R. Henry. Learn what Ellen G. 25 Thousand Adventists Are Displaced by Flood in Southern Nigeria
Recently, our world has been tremendously impacted by many natural disasters. Our church family in southern Nigeria has been affected by heavy rainfall, causing widespread flooding. An estimated 25 thousand Adventists have been displaced from their homes. Many churches of the Rivers West Conference have been submerged. Conference leaders ask the World Church to pray for the region and those affected during these critical times.
