Sabbath School: Witnessing to People About Jesus

July 15, 2020 By admin

There is unusual power in personal #testimony. What’s your own #story? What do you tell others about how you came to #faith? What makes our personal stories about #Jesus so #powerful? First, Jesus warms our hearts with His love. Next, Jesus changes our lives. Then we have something important to say about Him. Sure, we can tell people stories about what Jesus did for someone else. But it is more powerful when we share our own stories about the things Jesus does for us. It is hard to argue with someone’s personal experience. People may argue with your #beliefs. They may not agree with your explanation of #Bible truth. People may laugh at #religion or scold you for your faith in God. But who can argue with your experience? You can say, “I had no hope. But now I have hope. I was filled with guilt. But now I have peace. My life had no meaning. But now I have a reason to live!” Even people who doubt can be moved by the Good News when they see how Jesus changes your life. Some people may experience a fast change in their spiritual lives the same as Paul on the Damascus road. But most people change little by little over time. They start to understand who Jesus is. Then they become grateful for Jesus’ wonderful gift of mercy and His wish to save them from #sin. Jesus changes our lives fully. He changes us in a way that other people can see. This change is exactly what the people on this earth want and need very much. Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopedia – Unboxing An Amazing Gift

July 14, 2020 By admin

Who are the Seventh-day Adventists? Aside from keeping the seventh day as their Sabbath and healthy foods, what do we know about them? In this digital age, it is very timely to have an Adventist encyclopedia for reference. #AdventistEncyclopedia: The first of its kind The online Encyclopedia of Seventh-day Adventists (ESDA) is the first in Adventist history and it started operating on July 1, 2020. It has 2000+ articles on history, people, and institutions. This online reference has more than 3,500 photographs, many of which were never published before. And we’ll be expecting more stories, photos, and videos! What’s with the online Adventist encyclopedia?
ESDA is not exclusive for church members, it is also for people who want to know about the Seventh-day Adventists. It is for everyone! The history of the Adventist community is rich and deep. The missionaries’ true-to-life stories are inspiring where we can learn lessons from their attitudes and actions. How their ‘small’ acts contributed greatly to the work of God. Meet the ESDA editors
Dr. David Trim and Dr. Dragoslava Santrac are ESDA editors and they are the hosts for this video podcast series. This is the first episode: “The Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopedia – Unboxing An Amazing Gift." Let's join them as they interview Dr. Lisa Diller, who helps in making ESDA appealing even to the young people. Dr. Diller talks about her exciting and refreshing experiences as a historian while working for ESDA. She also shares how she motivates her students to be writers and contributors for this Adventist online encyclopedia. You can find their articles here: encyclopedia.adventist.org. We are also inviting you to tune in to our next Adventist history podcast: “The Complex and Beautiful Historical Growth of the Adventist Australian Church.” Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX-vK7kHyM0

Sabbath School: Why Should We Tell People About Jesus?

July 14, 2020 By admin

As you watch this week's #Sabbath school video, reflect on your own experiences in #witnessing to others, #praying with others, and #ministering to the needs of others? How have these experiences impacted your own #faith and walk with the #Lord? What does #God want? He wants all people everywhere to accept His #love. He also wants people to be changed by His Holy Spirit. God wants humans to live with Him in His kingdom. More than anything else, God wants to save us. His love has no limits. We cannot measure His love. God’s love has no end. His #forgiveness never runs out. His power cannot be used up or worn out. God is different from any other god that humans ever worshiped. Humans gave these false gods gifts. But the true God gave His life as a gift for us. Do you want to be saved? God wants to save you even more than you want to be saved! (1 Timothy 2:3, 4, ERV). With all His heart, God wants to save you and me. What is witnessing all about? Witnessing is telling other people all about #Jesus and what He did to save us. It is about how Jesus changes our lives. Witnessing is about wonderful Bible truth. The #Bible teaches us about God. The Bible shows us the beauty in God’s heart. Why should we witness or tell people about Jesus? Because we understand who God is. We want to share our experience of God’s love and His mercy with other people. Why else should we witness? Because we want to work with Jesus. We want to share the joy He feels when He saves people. His love changes lives.
