ProGrace is a training and equipping organization whose vision is for Christians to embrace a grace-centered response to dealing with unplanned pregnancies; thus, creating communities where both the woman and the child can thrive. There are two foundational beliefs at the heart of the ProGrace mission: #1 God’s design for pregnancy was to intertwine a woman and a child. He has made it impossible for us to try to help one while bypassing the other, but instead calls us to work for the dignity and welfare of both. #2 God’s path for transformation for any of us is always grace, not judgment. Psalm 27 is an exuberant declaration of faith. This psalm was written by King David when he was “a hunted fugitive, finding refuge in the rocks and caves of the wilderness” (Education, 164). The context of psalm 27 is found in 1 Samuel 22, where David is running for his life, and Saul savagely murders 85 priests, and then turns his sword against all the women and children and cattle in the city of Nob where they live. Ruben Dias and Mischa Gelb shared an epic dream, a passion for flying helicopters, and they united their interests, launching the EPIC (Empowering People & Inspiring Change) Global Heli Tour, which would carry them over sixty thousand kilometers, with one hundred and seven stops, traversing at least forty-five countries on five different continents. Over the last few weeks, historic flooding occurred in British Columbia: mudslides, highways washed out, power outages, towns evacuated, land lost, vehicles lost, and lives lost. Bridges and mountain passes were also washed away, which meant that people were stranded alongside mountainous roads and highways, sometimes in their vehicles, and sometimes they had to abandon them. It’s hard to imagine how frightening that would be to be caught out in the cold in the middle of nowhere late at night, far from your home, not knowing how long you were going to be stranded or if you are going to even make it.
