Psalm 22 – Part 1 with Pastor Jared Browne
This evening we are looking at Psalm 22, and we are joined by our friend, Jared Browne, who is a teacher and a pastor, serving at Kingsway College here in Oshawa, Ontario. 3 Messages in Psalm 22:
1. Unanswered Prayer
2. Christ – the promised ONE and His suffering.
3. How do we deal with rejection?
Jesus’ prayer went unanswered, so mine could also go unanswered. Sometimes we don’t have a happy ending.
Psalm 22 point us to a bigger, broader hope.
What drives human behaviour? 1. Need to be accepted. 2. Fear of Rejection.
Whenever something goes wrong, the question we ask ourselves is “What have I done wrong?” Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDPoHx4dVas

Psalm 23 with Pastor Frank Dell’Erba – Part 2: Protection
Pastor Frank Dell’Erba honestly and vulnerably shares with Mike and René personal experiences of times when he went through anxiety, depression and fear, and how the truths found in Psalm 23 comforted him and brought him peace and joy.
We focus only on verse 4: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,"
Where there is a shadow, there must be a light shining.
A shadow is very intimidating. But a shadow is not reality. The shadow of a wolf cannot bite you, and the shadow of a knife or sword cannot cut you. The shadow of death cannot destroy you. 1 Corinthians 15:26 says, The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
"I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."
As long as God is with us, we have no fear of evil/death.
No longer “He”, but “You” and “Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” The shepherd is now personal. Staff: the shepherd’s crook.
Rod: the club with metal spikes imbedded in it for beating off predators, like wolves. Can also be used for discipline. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDiFevl5la4
I Promise You – Norwill Simmonds – Music Video
Norwill Simmonds is well-known as a singing evangelist, and it was during a period of intense struggle in his life that he cried out to God, “What am I doing here? I don’t want to be here!”
This assuring message came to him: “Just hang on. I have plans for you.”
“It was this promise from God I rested on, and it gave me the courage to write the song: I Promise You.”
