Psalm 23 with Pastor Frank Dell’Erba – Part 2: Protection
Pastor Frank Dell’Erba honestly and vulnerably shares with Mike and René personal experiences of times when he went through anxiety, depression and fear, and how the truths found in Psalm 23 comforted him and brought him peace and joy.
We focus only on verse 4: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,"
Where there is a shadow, there must be a light shining.
A shadow is very intimidating. But a shadow is not reality. The shadow of a wolf cannot bite you, and the shadow of a knife or sword cannot cut you. The shadow of death cannot destroy you. 1 Corinthians 15:26 says, The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
"I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."
As long as God is with us, we have no fear of evil/death.
No longer “He”, but “You” and “Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” The shepherd is now personal. Staff: the shepherd’s crook.
Rod: the club with metal spikes imbedded in it for beating off predators, like wolves. Can also be used for discipline. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDiFevl5la4
I Promise You – Norwill Simmonds – Music Video
Norwill Simmonds is well-known as a singing evangelist, and it was during a period of intense struggle in his life that he cried out to God, “What am I doing here? I don’t want to be here!”
This assuring message came to him: “Just hang on. I have plans for you.”
“It was this promise from God I rested on, and it gave me the courage to write the song: I Promise You.”

Psalm 23 with Pastor Frank Dell’Erba – Part 1: Direction
Psalm 23 is probably the most well-known psalm of all time. Written more than 3,000 years ago. There are three divisions in Psalm 23, and they can be summed up in three words: 1. Direction (vs. 1-3), 2. Protection (vs. 4), 3. Connection (vs. 5-6). Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kKYe41VduQ
How Are We Stronger Together?
An odd thing happens when people, birds, bees, and horses decide to work together instead of working separately. The combined effect of the interaction of two or more is greater than the sum of their individual results. Canadian geese flying in formation, for example, can fly much further and faster than the sum of the individual birds flying alone. They fly more as one BIG bird than as many individuals. A hive of bees produces more honey than all the individual bees can produce on their own. Click on todays’ message to See How We Are Stronger Together!
