If you attended the General Conference Session in St. Louis earlier this month, or watched it on television or online, you had the privilege of witnessing the thrilling baptism of some of the top government military generals from Mindoro, Philippines. Their baptism is yet another ripple effect from AWR’s radio programs on that island. And if you have been following the story of the miracles in Mindoro these last five years, you know this was an especially meaningful baptism. What began as AWR’s efforts to blanket the island with the gospel message turned into an incredible triumph of God’s Word, as unbeknownst to us, rebel groups deep in the mountains of Mindoro heard and believed the messages. We didn’t know they were listening, but God’s Spirit reached them through AWR’s radio waves. No one could have predicted the snowball effect from these messages that reached not only the people of Mindoro and the rebels in their hideaways, but the government military who were hunting them! Watch this short video, where I share Elder Ted Wilson’s recounting of that amazing experience. The story of the island of Mindoro is a story of reconciliation—and I love that God used Adventist Word Radio to do it! Yours in the Blessed Hope, Duane McKey

Authority vs. Experience: What Shapes Christian Identity?
23 June 2022 | When famous Swedish chef Niklas Peter Ekstedt, a chef whose greatest passions are food and health, visited Loma Linda, he was very impressed by the longevity of Adventist centenarians and even with our vegetarian dishes. However, when leaving the town he said that Loma Linda as a town was “pretty boring.” […] Source: https://atoday.org/authority-vs-experience-what-shapes-christian-identity/
Science Proves You Need the Sabbath
You probably know that your body runs according to a 24-hour internal body clock called a circadian rhythm.
Beyond this, you also have a 7-day rhythm called a circaseptan rhythm. Even animals like beavers, bees, and birds have been scientifically proven to live according to a 7-day cycle where they work for 6 days and rest on the seventh day.
Look at today’s message and see how this 7-day cycle is not cultural; it’s biological—it’s the way God designed you to live. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xk_xKOW-jkk
Total Member Involvement [A Special Appeal for Us] – Pastor Ted Wilson
In this episode, Pastor Ted Wilson talks about total member involvement, a global campaign of the Adventist church wherein every member is encouraged to get actively involved in ministry and mission. In Luke 10, a lawyer challenged Jesus, asking what he must do to inherit eternal life. The answer was to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, love your neighbor as yourself." When the lawyer asked who that neighbor was, Jesus told him about the story of the good Samaritan, who encountered a man attacked by robbers as he was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. A priest saw the man but passed by. Another religious leader came and saw him but passed by, too. But when the Samaritan came, he took pity of him, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. When Jesus asked who among those three men was a good neighbor, the lawyer said it was "the one who had mercy on him," referring to the Samaritan. The Samaritan represents Jesus, Who puts on us and clothes us with His robe of righteousness. We are to follow His footsteps by doing medical missionary work in comprehensive health ministry, helping people physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. With this, Elder Ted quotes from Ellen White’s book, The Desire of Ages, page 504, saying, "The lesson is no less needed in the world today than when it fell from the lips of Jesus. Selfishness and cold formality have well-nigh extinguished the fire of love, and dispelled the graces that should make fragrant the character. Many who profess His name have lost sight of the fact that Christians are to represent Christ. Unless there is practical self-sacrifice for the good of others, in the family circle, in the neighborhood, in the church, and wherever we may be, then whatever our profession, we are not Christians." May God bless us as we engage in total member involvement, following Jesus’ footsteps, doing something for Him and others, and pointing them to the Master Physician and Teacher and His soon second coming.
