"Genesis 7 begins with a familiar Biblical expression. The Lord says to Noah, “Come into the ark…”(verse 1) Throughout scripture “Come” is Heaven’s divine invitation. Jesus invites us to “Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) The last chapter of the Bible’s last book, Revelation, gives us this gracious invitation, “And the Spirit and bride say “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” and let him who thirsts come…” (Revelation 22:17) Jesus adds, “…the one who comes to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37) God’s invitation to Noah to “Come into the ark” was an invitation to salvation, security, and deliverance. It was a promise of His care today, tomorrow and forever. It gave Noah hope in the midst of the chaos of this world. Jesus divine invitation gives us hope too. In the Ark of His safety we find salvation, security and deliverance.
