Every time we think we’ve reached the end of the incredible miracles in Mindoro, we’re blown away again! If you’ve been following our reports from this amazing project, you know that in December more than 700 former communist rebels were baptized, becoming fully reconciled Seventh-day Adventist Christians. They’ve been on fire for Jesus ever since. At the time of their baptism, they chose the motto “Each One Reach One,” and we promised to return when they reached this goal. They took it to heart, sharing their newfound faith with everyone they knew, and just two months later they contacted us to tell us they’d reached their goal! We returned to the Philippines three weeks ago to witness the amazing baptism of these new Christians, the first fruits from their labor. What an unforgettable experience! Jaslene hated the Philippine military. They had killed her husband and carted off his body, never to be seen again. On that day, she lost her husband, and her two young sons lost their father. This hardened Jaslene’s heart, and she vowed to raise her children to be the best fighters possible to avenge their father’s death. By 13, her older son had joined the NPA guerrillas, and his younger brother soon followed. It seemed like their future course was set. But God was about to intervene in their lives in a spectacular way. There was one possession Jaslene treasured above all others: her beautiful radio. It was her constant companion, especially after her sons left home to join the guerrillas. One day, as she turned the dial, she came upon an unfamiliar station. It was Adventist World Radio.
