Hurricane Beryl, a catastrophic event, swept through the Caribbean and Mexico from 1 to 5 July, causing extensive damage and leaving thousands homeless. On 1 July, Hurricane Beryl landed on the island of Carriacou (Grenada) with sustained winds of 222 km/h (138mph). This is the strongest hurricane to be recorded in June, during the initial phase of the Atlantic hurricane season.

Faith and Health Event Held at Watford Police Station
Friday, 12 July, saw the launch of the newly established Faith and Health Network Board (FHNB), bringing together multiple faith groups and health professionals. Hosted by One Vision charity and held at the new Watford Police Station located in St George Street, Watford, the event was convened to enhance collaboration across the health and voluntary sector with the engagement of faith leaders to better meet the holistic well-being needs of the community.

Death of Dr Paul Smith
We are sad to learn of the death of Dr Paul Raymond William Smith, who passed away on 14 June.
Born on 6 November 1933 in Colchester, Dr Paul studied for his Ministerial Diploma at Newbold College and completed his BA degree at Columbia Union College in 1959. He later pursued his MA and MDiv degrees at Andrews University, USA.
