It is with sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Ahwan who passed away on 21 December 2019 aged 87. He was born in the beautiful island of Mahe, Seychelles and brought up in an Adventist home. Samuel started his own Literature Evangelist (LE) ministry selling books and distributing literature as a young man in various parts of London from April 1979 to December 1985. Alumni of Harper Bell Adventist School Meet Founding Head Teacher
The first Sabbath of the New Year, 4 January, was the day Judith Asare brought a group of children to sing to and worship with founding Head Teacher of the Harper Bell Seventh-day Adventist School in Birmingham, Frank Castellino. These five youngsters, all former pupils of the Harper Bell School who graduated two years ago, are now in their second year of secondary education. Feeding the Homeless in Bristol on New Year’s Day
Wednesday 1 January 2020 saw members from the Bristol Central Adventist church joined by Mercedes Williams, a nurse at the local Southmead Hospital, to provide a free New Year meal for the homeless. Community Ministries leader Mary Philip held a similar event last year which Pastor Royston Smith had a burning desire to see the church re-engage in, to encourage those that are struggling in our community.
