We are saddened to announce the death of Basil Powell on 12th September. He died peacefully at home. His funeral service is at 11am on 7th October at Stanborough Park Church. His burial is at Tring Cemetery 1pm (Aylesbury Road, Tring HP23 4DH). Basil served as Treasurer of the BUC and when he retired his last assignment was serving in Pakistan. British Union Conference Executive Votes New Strategic Plan
On 15 September, the British Union Conference (BUC) Executive Committee voted to adapt a new strategic plan to guide its operations from January 2023. Focusing on 12 key priorities, the plan addresses not only the spiritual mission of the Church and the implementation of the GC, ‘I WILL GO’ initiative, but also acknowledges the Union’s responsibilities as a registered charity and a corporate organisation.

ADRA-UK Joins NGOs to Lobby Government on Horn of Africa
On 20 September a cohort from an informal syndicate of 15 Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) visited No 10 Downing Street with a petition signed by 30,237 people urging, the new Prime Minister, Liz Truss, to fund the humanitarian response in the Horn of Africa.
Currently, there are 50 million people in the region who are pushed towards either starvation in the Horn or famine in neighbouring Somalia. Remembrance Service for Late Queen Held in Peace Garden
On Saturday 17 September, CEO and founder of local charity One Vision, Enoch Kanagaraj organised a 45-minute Remembrance Service for Queen Elizabeth II held in the Peace Garden in Stanborough Park, Garston.
