Pastor Louis Amakye Retires from Active Ministry
Someone said that anyone who leaves a position they held for many years will experience some nostalgia.
That is how we felt on 17 August 2024 at Newbold College when several hundred friends, colleagues, parents, and church members held a retirement service to celebrate Pastor Louis Renner Yaw Amakye’s many years of achievement as a servant of God.

Obituary – Dennis Stanley Porter: 8 December 1930–16 August 2024
Dennis Porter was born in 1930 in Tottenham to a mother who became an Adventist in 1899 at thirteen. The baby Dennis was dedicated in the Holloway church, and according to his sixteen-year-old sister, he bawled throughout the ceremony. His parents later moved to Edmonton, and his mother took him to the church there. He was eventually baptised at sixteen and, at twenty-one, began lay preaching in churches other than his own, a ‘career’ that was to last for sixty years.

BUC Leaders and Pastors attend the European Pastors’ Council 2024
It was a momentous occasion as pastors and leaders from the British Union Conference (BUC), a vital part of our Division, were among the nearly 1200 attendees across the Trans-European Division (TED) who gathered for the quinquennial European Pastors’ Council in Belgrade, Serbia.

Abundance
We live in a world where complaining and dissatisfaction are often the default. We quantify ‘our lack’ rather than counting our blessings. And there is much in the 21st century to cause us continual moments of displeasure and discontent.
When we are asked, ‘How are you?’, our answer often reveals matters that cause us concern. And while authenticity is valid, as we seek to put GOD FIRST in our lives, praise and thanks for His abundance should be embodied in our demeanour and conversations.
