SATIRE: Adventist University Admissions Criteria to Include Academics

August 28, 2023 By admin

SILVER SPRING, Maryland — The Adventist Accrediting Association has decided to require minimum academic requirements of students applying to Adventist universities. The historic move is sure to strike fear into the hearts of academy students hoping to attend Adventist universities this fall. In a statement titled “We Are More than Glorified Academies,” US-based Adventist universities […] Source: https://atoday.org/satire-adventist-university-admissions-criteria-to-include-academics/

La Iglesia de Dios incluye a todos, también a los que no encajan

August 28, 2023 By admin

Source: https://atoday.org/la-iglesia-de-dios-incluye-a-todos-tambien-a-los-que-no-encajan/

10: Husbands and Wives Together at the Cross – Singing with Inspiration

August 27, 2023 By admin

The book of Ephesians does show us “How to Follow Jesus in Trying Times”:
Hymn 623 – I Will Follow Thee, My Saviour so that our actions will always speak louder than our words.

Our Memory Text encourages us to have no spot or wrinkle as does
Hymn 318 – Whiter Than Snow.

As we look at the topic of submission this week, and find this in verses 2 and 3 of
Hymn 462 – Blessed Assurance. We may do this to the “Head of the Church” (Sunday) with this being summarized in
Hymn 348 – The Church Has One Foundation.

Monday gives us a reminder of the bridegroom of the church being Jesus:
Hymn 374 – Jesus With Thy Church Abide and
Hymn 346 – Lord, Who Dost Give To Thy Church. With the bridegroom coming to claim the church as His bride, we sing this in
Hymn 211 – Lo He Comes (Tuesday).

The love shown in Wednesday is found in
Hymn 354 – Thy Love, O God,
Hymn 349 – God Is Love and further down in the study
Hymn 191 – Love Divine and
Hymn 162 – Wondrous Love.

With the marriage supper completed on Thursday, joy bubbles over and gives us
Happy The Home – Hymn 655 and
Happy The Home That Welcomes You – Hymn 651.

So, dear people, be encouraged to go forward and
“Lift up the trumpet and loud let it ring, Jesus IS coming again” – Hymn 213.

To learn unknown hymns, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/

Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org/Search and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Amen!(0)

10: Husbands and Wives Together at the Cross – Teaching Plan

August 27, 2023 By admin

Key Thought: The analogy of the church’s faithfulness to Christ is a model for the wife’s loyalty and submission to her husband.
September 2, 2023

1. Have a volunteer read Ephesians 5:21, 28-30.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
  2. What does Paul mean by exhorting church members to submit to each other?
  3. Personal Application: In what ways should a woman submit unto her husband? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your relatives states, “My husband is coarse, rough, harsh, and overbearing. Am I to submit to him as I would to Christ?” How would you respond to your relative?
(Note: This presumes a loving, caring marriage; not a dysfunctional one.)

2. Have a volunteer read Ephesians 2 Corinthians 11:1-4.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. How does Paul use elements of the wedding to appeal to the Christians in Corinth?
  3. Personal Application: How does this imagery show us how much Christ cares about each one of us? Share your thoughts
  4. Case Study: One of your friends states, “This is an outdated passage based on the authority and domination of the husband. It isn’t relevant to relationships today.?” How would you respond to your friend?

3. Have a volunteer read Ephesians 5:28-30.

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What new argument does Paul use to encourage husbands to practice tender love toward their wives?
  3. Personal Application: What can we learn from Jesus about loving those in your own family circle? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your neighbors states: “What counsel does Paul have to offer to me in my challenging and difficult marriage and relationship with my spouse?” How would you respond to your relative?

4. Have a volunteer read Genesis 2:24,25.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What does it mean to you that the husband and wife become “one flesh”?
  3. Personal Application: How can you more fully implement the principles found in the Bible in your marriage? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.

(Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted, loses its life-giving power, its healing virtue. Its blessings can be retained only as it is shared.”Ministry of Healing, p. 148).

Amen!(0)

AWR360° Stories of Transformation

August 27, 2023 By admin

Be inspired by this medley of exciting stories, all of which are available in long form on our channel. 00:00 Perfecto Meet Perfecto, a pagan chief tucked high up in the Philippine jungles. Spiritualism and local lore ruled his life. His prize possession was his radio. Surprisingly, his music was replaced with Adventist World Radio's Bible messages. The Sabbath truth captivated his heart. Daily, the entire village gathered around his radio resulting in the whole village being baptized together. God's Three Angels' messages transformed Perfecto from a pagan chief into a Seventh-day Adventist leader who donated his own property to build the village a church. Watch the rest of Perfecto’s story https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6k_9HthYEg 00:40 Mama Miembe Meet Mama Miembe in Tanzania, challenged by her pastor to use the upcoming radio evangelistic series as a witnessing tool, she carried her radio everywhere. Next to the town bar was her garden. As she tended to her plants, the radio's volume was turned up. This caught the attention of the bar owner and his patrons. Elya's drunken bar transformed into a Seventh-day Adventist place of worship. Elya's and 20 of his customers were baptized. Watch the rest of Mama Miembe’s story https://youtu.be/KxvAoJSiSYA 01:13 Pralad Meet Pralad, a witch doctor residing in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal. Depression overcame him with his failure to heal his two dying sons through witchcraft. Providentially, his son Surendra tuned into AWR and shared it with Pralad and 17 other families who all decided to be baptized. Now, grateful to be out from under the spell of witchcraft and freed by Bible truth, AWR trained them to witness through their cell phones. Pralad, a witch doctor, was transformed into a Seventh-day Adventist cell phone evangelist. Watch the rest of Pralad’s story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko5z7fnrVe4&t=3s 01:53 Wisam Ali Meet Wisam Ali. He was shot, stoned twice, and stabbed by a mob, but each time, angels saved his life. Wisam has translated our Adventist sermons into Arabic and sends them out through cell phone platforms. The domino effect is that many Arabs and entire congregations have become Sabbath keepers, baptized in the Jordan River. Wisam, a former Muslim, was transformed into the only Arabic speaking Seventh-day Adventist pastor in Israel. Watch the rest of Wisam’s story: https://youtu.be/n8DxkM99IAs 02:28 The Executioner Meet the executioner, a ruthless hitman who thought that God would never forgive him. The voice of a pleading victim haunted him long after it had been silenced in the Philippine jungles. Through his family's radio, God pulled at his heartstrings when he realized that he was the lost sheep. He studied, believed, and was baptized. Now armed with the gospel, a projector, and a radio, he has returned to those same villages. This is a real, modern-day Saul-to-Paul story. The executioner was transformed into God's lifesaving evangelist. Watch the Executioner’s transformation story here: https://youtu.be/hcIkp0U-rns 03:17 Ranja Meet Ranja the witch of Madagascar. She was dedicated to the devil as a baby. Witchcraft made her influential. Villages hired her to stop the rampant cow thieves from stealing their herds. Even though she was very powerful, could heal people, shut crocodile's mouths, and make bullets stop, she was miserable. When AWR played on the radio, the evil spirits had no control over her. She learned that Jesus is the ultimate power. After baptism, she started three Seventh-day Adventist churches. A spell casting witch was transformed into a church planting soul winner. Watch Ranja’s full story here: https://youtu.be/FkTQuT3kU-w 04:04 Doret Meet 16-year-old Doret from South Africa, a struggling teenager questioning her faith. She reluctantly joined TMI to preach an evangelistic series in Zambia. She was shocked to see so many of her attendees were baptized. This changed the path of her life forever. Doret is now studying to become a missionary. This doubting teen was transformed into a confident soul winner. Watch the full Zambia report here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNYGMXWaLG8&t=5s 04:35 Marius Meet Marius, an elder of the SDA church. He was inactive and lukewarm until he was introduced to cell phone evangelism. Burdened for his son Elmer who had been using drugs for 15 years, Marius simply forwarded the Bible recordings. Today, Elmer is baptized, drug-free, and has joined his dad as a cell phone evangelist spreading the word to thousands every week.
