In November 2021, Ernesto and many former rebels publicly surrendered their lives to Jesus in baptism. Once a fierce fighter, Ernesto found peace in Christ and immediately began sharing the gospel with others. It’s been a busy couple of months since I joined Adventist World Radio—and what a ride it’s been! The more I learn about our ministry, the more I’m impressed with the scope and breadth of this media tool of the Adventist Church to reach the world for Jesus. The possibilities are endless! Many years ago, I was working as an evangelism coordinator at a local conference, and I invited then-AWR President Duane McKey to speak at our camp meeting. I did so because I knew there was an intentional effort on the part of AWR to not just broadcast the message, but to win souls and lead them to discipleship. That was my first impression of this ministry that I’ve come to love. Here is a short video where I share my vision for AWR. What a privilege to be able to lead this ministry—to reach the world with a clear and powerful message, proclaiming that Jesus is coming soon! I know that as we work together and trust God’s Spirit to lead us, we can accomplish what Jesus promised His disciples: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
