12: Rewards of Faithfulness – Singing with Inspiration

March 20, 2023 By admin

“MANAGING FOR THE MASTER Till He Comes” will show us that
God Is Working His Purpose Out – Hymn 225 in all our we do and say. May we be encouraged by this hymn for this quarter and that
In Our Work And In Our Play – Hymn 591 we will work until Jesus comes. Hence, a choice of theme hymns for this quarter.

The studies this week give wholeheartedly to singing
Hymn 602 – O Brother, Be Faithful all because of God’s great faithfulness in
Hymn 100 – Great Is Thy Faithfulness.

Our encouragement comes on Sabbath afternoon that
God Is My Strong Salvation – Hymn 339 all because of God’s
Amazing Grace – Hymn 108.

The reward that will be given by our gracious God is in:
Hymn 209 – That Glorious Day Is Coming verse 2,
Hymn 210 – Wake, Awake, for Night Is Flying verse 2,
Hymn 359 – Hark! The Voice Of Jesus Calling verse 1, and
Hymn 621 – Gracious Father, Guard Thy Children verse 2, to name a few hymns. This is all because of our dear Jesus who went to the cross:
Hymn 312 – Near The Cross because of His
Amazing Grace – Hymn 108.

Monday reiterates “our part is simply to believe Him”:
Hymn 486 – I Do Believe.

On this old earth, it is difficult for humankind to imagine The New Jerusalem:
Hymn 420 Jerusalem, My Happy Home and
Hymn 421 – Jerusalem The Golden. Oh, the joy to be
Face To Face – Hymn 206 with our dear Saviour.

With our Eyes On The Prize (Thursday), we sing Philippians 4:19 in
Hymn 104 – My Shepherd Will Supply My Need. Just as Paul wrote of this, he also wrote for us to
Fight The Good Fight – Hymn 613.

Today, and every day, we look forward to Jesus coming again. Oh, what a day that will be
When We All Get To Heaven – Hymn 633 because
That Glorious Day Is Coming – Hymn 209.

To learn unknown hymns, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/

Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org/Search and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Amen!(0)

12: Rewards of Faithfulness – Teaching Plan

March 20, 2023 By admin

Key Thought : Grace makes us new creatures in Christ, fashioned unto good works. All good works are fruits of faith that God gives, and the works of salvation are wrought by God Himself.
March 25, 2023

1. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 11:6, Isaiah 40:10, Psalm 22:12..

  1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
  2. What do these texts mean to us? How should we respond to what it says?
  3. Personal Application: How are we blessed by keeping God’s commandments if it is not the cause of salvation but gives us the right to enter into the Holy City? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your relatives states, “What is the difference between salvation by grace and a reward according to works? Isn’t a reward according to our works a way of working for salvation, or working for a reward?” How would you respond to your relative?

2. Have a volunteer read Revelation 21:1-4,7,8.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What are some things that we are promised?
  3. Personal Application: What is the difference between the saved and the lost in these verses? Share your thoughts
  4. Case Study: One of your friends states, “Why is Revelation so harsh on people’s deeds and actions as unsavable? I thought Christ’s blood covered all when He died on the cross and the believer accepts Him by faith.” How would you respond to your friend?

3. Have a volunteer read Matthew 25:14-23.

  1. Ask class members to share a short
  2. Who is the one traveling into a far country? Who does he entrust his goods to? What does it mean to settle accounts?
  3. Personal Application: How do you think you would fare when God comes to settle accounts with you? Share your thoughts.
  4. Case Study: One of your neighbors states: “I thought talents were gifts that God gives people to share the gospel, but this seems to refer talents to money and how the believer uses it to God’s glory. Doesn’t the rich Christian have an advantage over a poor one, if this is true?” How would you respond to your relative?

4. Have a volunteer read Romans 8:16-18.

  1. Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
  2. What motivated Paul to be a faithful steward to what God had blessed him with?
  3. Personal Application: Why would you or anyone else be concerned and responsible for the financés that you have to serve God and others? Share your thoughts?
  4. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.

(Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted, loses its life-giving power, its healing virtue. Its blessings can be retained only as it is shared.”Ministry of Healing, p. 148).

Amen!(0)

Monday: Everlasting Life

March 19, 2023 By admin

As human beings (and whether we like it or not), an eternity awaits us. And according to the Bible, this eternity will come in one of two manifestations, at least for each of us individually: either eternal life or eternal death. That’s it. No middle ground. No straddling, a bit of one side or another. Instead, it is one (life) or the other (death). This truly is a case of all or nothing.

Read Romans 6:23 and John 3:16. What options are presented to us?

It is hard to imagine two starker or more distinct choices, isn’t it?

Chances are that if you are reading this, you have chosen eternal life, or certainly are thinking about it. God has the unique ability to do whatever He says He can do — to fulfill all His promises. Our part is simply to believe Him, rest upon the merits of Jesus, and by faith obey His Word.

Read John 14:1-3. What is the Lord’s counsel to us in verse 1, and what does He promise to us in verses 2 and 3?

In the final days of His earthly ministry, Jesus gave these amazing words of hope and courage to His disciples. These words would lift their spirits in times of discouragement and trial. They should do the same for us. Jesus came from heaven, went back to heaven, and has promised us, “I will come again and I will receive you unto Myself so you can be with Me there.”

And, perhaps more than anything else, Christ’s death on the cross at His first coming is our greatest assurance of His second coming, for without the Second Coming, what good was His first one? As sure as we are that Jesus died for us on the cross is as sure as we can be that, yes, as He promised: “I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3, NKJV).

Dwell more on the idea that Christ’s first coming is the guarantee of His second. What happened at the first coming that makes the second a promise that we can trust?

Sunday: Reward for Faithfulness

March 18, 2023 By admin

Read Hebrews 11:6. What should this verse mean to us? How should we respond to what it says? See also Revelation 22:12, Isaiah 40:10, and Isaiah 62:11. What do all these texts teach us?

The reward from God to His faithful children is unique and, like many spiritual things, may be beyond our finite understanding. “Human language is inadequate to describe the reward of the righteous. It will be known only to those who behold it. No finite mind can comprehend the glory of the Paradise of God.” — Ellen G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 675.

Jesus concluded the Beatitudes, which opens the Sermon on the Mount, with these words: “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you” (Matthew 5:11-12, , NKJV). After listing the people of faith in Hebrews 11:1-40, the author begins the next chapter explaining why Jesus was willing to die on the cross.

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2, , NKJV).

Being rewarded for faithfulness, however, is not the same as salvation by works. Who among us, or among any of the characters in the Bible, had works good enough to give them any merit before God? None, of course. That’s the whole point of the cross. If we could have saved ourselves by works, Jesus never would have gone to the cross. Instead, it must be by grace. “And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work” (Romans 11:6, NKJV). Rewards, instead, are the mere outworking of what God has done for us and in us.

How do we understand the difference between salvation by grace and a reward according to works? Bring your answer to class on Sabbath.

Sabbath: Rewards of Faithfulness

March 17, 2023 By admin

Jesus' Hand Pointing to Holy City

Sabbath Afternoon

Read for This Week’s Study: Hebrews 11:6, Isaiah 62:11, Romans 6:23, John 14:1-3, Revelation 21:1-27, Matthew 25:20-23, Romans 8:16-18.
Memory Text: “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord’ ” (Matthew 25:21, NKJV).

Though we can never earn salvation, the Bible uses the hope of reward as a motivation for faithful living as undeserving recipients of God’s grace, for in the end whatever we receive is, always and only, from God’s grace.

As David wrote: “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward” (Psalm 19:7-11, NKJV).

In various places the Bible talks about our rewards, what we are promised through Christ after the Second Coming and this terrible detour with sin is once and for all over and done.

What are we promised, and what assurance do we have of getting what we have been promised?

Study this week’s lesson to prepare for Sabbath, March 25.
