Although volunteer projects in Zambia are postponed due to COVID-19, the work has continued, thanks to Maranatha Volunteers International’s local crews. At the Emmanuel Adventist Secondary School, workers are sheltering in place as they construct a three-classroom building for this 300-student boarding academy. The foundation is already complete and fabrication is now underway on the doors and windows.

Adventist Church in Brazil to hold special meeting to connect with those who no longer attend church.
You certainly know someone who was once a member of the Adventist Church and today no longer attends. May 12th was World Nurses’ Day, a worldwide occasion to highlight the importance of nurses in the healthcare continuum and thank nurses for what they do.

Church leaders celebrate success of 50 days of prayer across Inter-America
Seventh-day Adventist church leaders from across the Inter-American Division paused to celebrate 50 days of daily prayer during a two-and-a-half-hour video conference program on the evening of May 13. A total of 1,000 leaders and church members from the 24 union territories went online to pray, worship, and share testimonies of answered prayers at the midpoint of the 100 Days of Prayer initiative launched by the Adventist World Church late in March 2020.

Care in a Crisis: Reflections from a ‘returned’ intensive care nurse
Moira Surridge has a career in the United Kingdom’s (UK) National Health Service that has spanned four decades and eleven different hospitals. Much of that has been working in Intensive care units, though more recently she has taken on an educational role, teaching and training on sepsis at Watford General Hospital.
