It was a tough first year at the Seventh-day Adventist college in Spain.
Dante Marvin Herrmann used up the last of his savings to pay the annual tuition of about 5,000 euros. Between classes, he worked to earn another 5,000 euros to provide for his wife and two young sons.
Now he faced a long summer away from home, working as a literature evangelist to raise money to pay for his second year of studies.

Breaking: Adventist named Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea
Seventh-day Adventist James Marape was elected Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea (PNG) on May 30.
The appointment comes after weeks of turmoil that rocked the PNG government and eventually led to the resignation of former PM Peter O’Neill.
Mr Marape, the country’s former finance minister, is the Member for the Tari Pori electorate in the Southern Highlands. Annual Adventist-sponsored dinner honors religious liberty advocates, supporters
The 17th annual Religious Liberty Dinner was held at The Religious Freedom Center of the Newseum Institute in Washington, D.C., on May 20. The annual dinner is sponsored by the International Religious Liberty Association (IRLA), North American Religious Liberty Association (NARLA), Liberty magazine, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The dinner drew more than 120 people, making it one of the most highly attended in recent years.

Harold W. Baptiste, former executive secretary for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America, passes Away at 81
Harold Wilson Baptiste, former secretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America (NAD), passed away May 25, 2019 in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 81. Baptiste’s special burdens for urban ministry and training the next generation of Church leaders guided his ministry.
Baptiste was the longest-serving executive secretary of the NAD, active from 1990 to 2002, before taking the position of general vice president at the General Conference from 2002 to 2005.
