Wilson has issued an urgent appeal for prayer following the recent arrest and detention of 22 Adventist leaders and members in the central African nation of Burundi. The Seventh-day Adventist World Church President, Ted N.C. Wilson, has written a letter of appeal to the governor of the U.S. state of Tennessee, Bill Lee, asking for a stay of execution for Donnie Johnson. Johnson has been convicted of killing his wife and is set to be executed this week. While in prison, Johnson became a Christian and was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
