Literature evangelists (LEs) are facing unusual challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. While these challenges appear daunting, the pandemic has also provided some unique opportunities. Even when some doors are closing, so to speak, others are opening.
Each LE in our region has been counseled to follow the local ordinances where they live regarding COVID-19 protocol. The Adventist Church And ADRA Italy provide relief during the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Hi, I’m from ADRA. I’d like to bring you some food because I know you could use it. I’ll bring enough for two weeks for you and your children, and then I’ll bring you more. May I?”
The answer: “Yes, you can! But tell me who you are and why you’re doing this.” “I’m a Christian, a Seventh-day Adventist, and a health care worker, I distribute an all-powerful drug: love!”

Pandemic of racism
While 2020 has seen the world caught in the COVID-19 pandemic, another important global issue has risen to the fore—the pandemic of racism. On May 25, African-American man George Floyd was murdered by a white Minneapolis police officer. Mr. Floyd’s death is one of several deaths recently at the hands of law enforcement officers. Within hours of the live video of his death going viral, the United States erupted in protests and the movement gained momentum on the international stage.

San staff thank students for their support
Staff at Sydney Adventist Hospital (San) have thanked students from a local school for their heartwarming and inspiring letters of support and hope sent to bolster their spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Close to 100 students from Brigidine College created moving and soulful messages acknowledging the pressures on doctors, nurses, and other support staff, voicing their thanks for the expertise and sacrifices they were making in caring for the ill and preventing the spread of infection.

Cyprus, Norway and Serbia say ‘Thank You’
Three building projects across Europe aim to become centers of influence as a result of member generosity this last quarter. The gift of 13th Sabbath offerings will help build a Church Center of Influence in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, develop another center that is already a fledgling project in Norway, and allow a church plant to develop in an increasingly popular but secular suburb of Belgrade, Serbia.
