There was much joy and excitement at the dedication of a new Adventist school in Central Kolombangara, Solomon Islands, on May 18. Many locals came to celebrate the dedication service for Patpaele Adventist Secondary School in the western Solomon Islands. The service was organized by Central Kolombangara district leader Kele Hana. Among the attendees was Solomon Islands Mission education director Billy Leta. On Friday, May 22, 2020, the first ever virtual “The Tent” meeting, a collaboration between the Ruth Murdoch Elementary School and Pioneer Memorial Church (PMC) youth ministries, premiered on YouTube and Facebook. “The Tent,” as it is known, has been an evangelistic series put on by junior high students in a large tent on the campus of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Once again our country is being reminded that we have much work to do. As we watch the news, we must feel more than sympathy for our African American students, faculty, staff, friends and colleagues. This has gone on far too long, and even though the protests are now being taken advantage of by other forces of evil, we must not get derailed from the fundamental issues.
