While being under “shelter-in-place” orders for the past two months, I finally had the opportunity to read Joseph Wolff’s (1795-1862) Travels and Adventures[i]. I’ve deeply admired Wolff ever since I first read about him in The Great Controversy.[ii] For those not familiar with his story, Wolff was one of many heralds of the Second Advent spanning the globe during the nineteenth century.

COVID-19 sparks surge in Bible study inquiries
Interest in Hope Discovery Center (HDC) courses has spiked over the past week, with dozens of people expressing their desire to learn more about forgiveness and other faith-based topics.
The HDC team, based at Adventist Media in Wahroonga (NSW), sent letters to contacts who had previously completed a course on forgiveness (entitled “Forgive to Live”). Of the 80 people who received letters, 40 wrote back asking to be enrolled in the follow-up “Forgive to Live 2” Bible study.

Headway in India During COVID-19
Despite stringent lockdown restrictions throughout the nation during the coronavirus pandemic, Maranatha Volunteer International’s local crews in India have continued to move the mission forward where permitted. Since March, crew members have been sheltering-in-place at each worksite, taking precautionary health measures, and communicating with local officials to ensure compliance.

Adventist humanitarian agency installs portable sinks in Recife
Joining forces in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency in Brazil (ADRA) installed public “solidarity sinks” May 19, in the São José neighborhood, in Recife, Brazil’s fourth-largest city. The action is a protective measure for people on the street and takes into account the risk of contamination and the importance of hygiene for the whole society.
