In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Australia programs are continuing to find innovative ways to serve their communities.
Community meals have now become takeaway, counselling services have moved online and care packages, including toiletries, are being delivered to the most vulnerable.

Serving the homeless, sick, and food insecure in the face of a pandemic
Social distancing. It’s a term that has become ubiquitous in light of the coronavirus disease pandemic. According to the Johns Hopkins Medical Center, “Social distancing is deliberately increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading illness. Staying at least six feet away from other people lessens your chances of catching COVID-19.” Unprecedented, widespread measures have been enacted to decrease gatherings and increase physical space between individuals in public spaces.

ADRA Mexico distributes thousands of hand sanitizers in Mexico City and Monterrey
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Mexico began distributing thousands of antibacterial gel bottles or hand sanitizers this week to persons over 65 with chronic diseases and special needs, as cases of the coronavirus increase in the country.
As of Mar. 25, Mexico’s Federal Health Secretary reported that there were six deaths as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, 475 confirmed cases, and some 1,656 suspected cases.
