Does Job Fear God for Naught? | The Great Battle’s War and Loyalty in Trials (Skin for Skin: The Battle Continues)

November 12, 2023 By admin

The Book of Job reveals a profound spiritual reality that extends beyond the visible occurrences. In Job 2:1-3, we witness a repeat of Satan’s attack on Job, this time extending to Job’s physical health. Satan demands to test and challenge Job through physical suffering.
The significance of the presence of the “sons of God”—witnesses to the dialogue between God and Satan—sheds light on the cosmic conflict representing the Great Battle between Good and Evil. The heavenly assemblies bear witness to the conflict that concerns not only Job but has a much larger spiritual significance.
The phrase “skin for skin” might indicate that Satan aims to physically harm Job to see if his loyalty to God remains unshaken. This illustrates the attack on Job’s integrity and faith—Satan doubts the authenticity of Job’s loyalty to God.
However, this isn’t just a personal conflict between Job and Satan. It’s part of the broader spiritual battle that spans the entire universe. These heavenly assemblies bear witness to the depth and significance of the Great Battle between Good and Evil, permeating the reality of the entire universe.
Just as Job remained steadfast and loyal to God amid his trials, this reveals an important principle of faith: Our trust in God should not be dependent on external circumstances. Even amidst pain and suffering, we can remain steadfast in our faith by relying on God’s goodness and faithfulness.
The Great Battle isn’t just a conflict between Job and Satan; it’s a spiritual conflict involving celestial beings and the universe. It reminds us that our faith, loyalty, and trust in God aren’t just personal but carry a significance that encompasses the universe.
Prayer: Lord, amid life’s trials and conflicts, teach us to remain faithful to You. Help us base our faith on Your faithfulness and not be shaken by external circumstances. Remind us that our faith is part of a larger cosmic conflict where Your reign and goodness will prevail. Amen.
May God’s grace grant us strength and steadfastness in our tests of faith as we persist in this Great Battle. Amen.

Lesson 7 Mission to my Neighbor – 7.2 Jesus’s Method and Response

November 12, 2023 By admin

The way Jesus responded to questions and challenges offers valuable insights into dealing with different views and challenging questions, especially concerning our faith.
The Bible verses mentioned, such as Matthew 26:56, Acts 17:11, 1 Corinthians 15:3, and 2 Timothy 3:16, emphasize the importance of Scripture as a source of truth and divine knowledge. Jesus always redirected attention to the Holy Scriptures in dealing with questions, indicating that the answers are already contained there. This practice underscores the importance of personally studying the Holy Scriptures to discover the truth and not solely relying on the interpretations of others.
The Bible is considered the inspired word of God, teaching us everything we need to know to lead our lives, serve others, and ultimately inherit eternal life. It is not merely a book but a divine source of wisdom and truth guiding us in our faith journey.
Jesus’s emphasis on God’s word reminds us of the importance of rejecting philosophical or theological arguments that question the authority of the Bible. The Bible is the cornerstone of our faith and our guide for a fulfilled life. It is a source of light leading us through the darkness of this world.
Emphasizing the Scriptures as infallible and inspired divine truth underscores the necessity of acknowledging the Bible as our primary reference point in matters of faith. Through this, we can be strengthened in our faith and recognize the truth as a guide for our lives.

Dios es el perdedor más grande

November 12, 2023 By admin

Mi esposa Deanne afirma que cuando voy ganando una partida, me pongo hablador y quiero discutir cada jugada; cuando voy perdiendo, estoy callado, malhumorado, aburrido y pronto “quiero hacer otra cosa”. Monday: Jesus’ Method and Response

November 12, 2023 By admin

Daily Lesson for Monday 13th of November 2023

The Bible tells us that the lawyer came to test Jesus, but Jesus knew what his intentions were. Indeed, God knows the longings and desires of our hearts more than we ourselves do. And we certainly do not know the heart or the motives of those who question us, do we?

Sometimes people from other religions question us about our faith. For instance, our Muslim friends ask us questions related to Jesus’ divinity, such as, “Where in the Bible did Jesus say that He is God?” or “Why do you say there is one God when you have three persons in the Trinity?” Though these seem to be provocative questions, yet the heartfelt need for Jesus can be genuine and can represent a deep longing or emptiness of those asking the questions. We don’t know their hearts; we don’t need to. We simply need to minister to others the best we can, regardless of their deepest motives.

Read Matthew 26:56, Acts 17:11, 1 Corinthians 15:3, and 2 Timothy 3:16. How do these verses help us understand Jesus’ response to the lawyer in Luke 10:26?

Sometimes we want answers but do not put in the work ourselves to find them. Jesus said: “ ‘What is written in the Law? How do you read it?’ ” (Luke 10:26, ESV). Jesus pointed to a very important aspect of learning. Instead of only listening to what others have to tell us, we need to read the Scriptures (the Word of God) for ourselves. The answers already are there, and the Holy Spirit works on our hearts to impress upon us what we need to do.

God has given us His Word. In it, we can find all the truth that we need to know about how we are supposed to live, about how we are supposed to treat others, and about how we can “inherit eternal life.” Sure, there is a role for teachers and ministers, but in the end, we must go to the Bible for the truths that matter. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalms 119:105, NKJV). This verse is not just poetry; it’s sacred truth, pointing us to the Word of God and its importance to the believer.

Jesus, the Word of God made flesh, always pointed people back to the Written Word. What should this tell us about the importance of the Bible and why we must reject any philosophical or theological reasoning that lessens our trust in the Bible?
